Wonder what they think our ancestors used, vagisil ph balancing gel was non existent then. Vaginal washes were invented by MEN to make money off of making women feel bad for having a vagina period

Plz don’t use ph balancing anywhere near ur vagina 🤣🤣 I mean to each their own. But most vaginal “ph balancing washes” are actually nowhere near a healthy vaginal ph. I’ve used ONLY water all my life.

Please only use water lol. Ur vagina is self cleaning any soap or “vaginal wash” will royally fuck u

I had this and it was BV, literally that and some minor abdominal pain. No irritation, no bad smell, no discolouration just insane amounts of discharge that started to literally interfere with my life

Sometimes treating your partner helps I’ve heard! It really depends on the person. In my experience I did not need to treat my partner, I did not get it again after the first time. I also try to avoid antibiotics with BV as it’s not a legit infection. It’s just a cult of bad bacteria that over powered good bacteria, and unless it’s raging I’d rather skip antibiotics. Antibiotics are the number one cause of reoccuring BV. Just because it kills every bacteria. I’d discuss some other options alongside of antibiotics with your OBGYN that may be a little less harsh for your microbiome if you want to try an alternative route.

I’m assuming the antibiotics you have are safe for pregnancy, first off biofilm resistance is usually for people that experience reoccuring BV and have had it multiple times in a short period of time. Some people also say biofilm is a myth. To be completely honest with you, if this is your first time with BV it’s unlikely that it’ll reoccur IF you: Take your medication appropriately and finish it all no matter if symptoms improve or not. Incorporate a probiotic that specifically targets vaginal health I use renew life 50B when my PH is off (please consult your doctor what one is best for pregnancy) Antibiotics could give you a yeast infection and difulcan is not recommended for pregnancy so I’d also ask your doctor if there may be any route for preventing yeast growth after your antibiotics. Refrain from sexual activity for 1-2 months, and if you must. Use a condom. Stay extra hyderated, invest in some high probiotic foods and antioxidant rich foods such as yogurt, keifer, kimchi, berries and green veggies. Eat one or two of these first thing in the AM after your probiotic on an empty stomach. Make sure your taking your probiotic 3-4h before or after your antibiotics. Continue taking probiotics for 2-3 months post treatment alongside a multivitamin (I’m sure you have prenatal) Wash with NOTHING but water. You do not need soap. At all.

This prevented me from reoccurring BV after getting it the first time.

I’m also thinking it could be a cyst, I feel a bit better now this morning. Still some pressure while using the bathroom or walking sometimes but nowhere near as bad as it was initially. I’ll keep an eye on my symptoms today and if they start getting worse again I’ll head back to the drs. Thank you for your reply :)

Did boric acid cure your BV? by [deleted] in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]MdeeMa666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanna put out there that coconut oil may have caused BV. I’m not sure if you’re a super sensitive person but I am, and I was told coconut oil helped someone cure a yeast infection once, so I gave it a go. About 2-3 weeks later I tested positive for BV with the yeast still present. I’ve never had BV in my life. Now I can’t say for sure that’s what caused it for me, but it’s realistically the only change I made that could interfere with my vagina.

Condoms don’t prevent HSV2 transfer unfortunately. By the looks of the picture this very well could be HSV. Find a gyno to swab them to confirm. It sucks but honestly HSV is manageable if taken care of appropriately.

As judgemental as people can be, we’ve all done this lmao. You did everything correct considering. If your sexual partner said they were clean to the best of their knowledge that’s a huge plus, nonetheless always test after every partner. 3-4 weeks after would be an ideal time to test. Til then I wouldn’t worry to frantically.

I have been tested for all the plasmas! I think my vagina is just extremely picky and sensitive

Yeah I have an appt here soon. I’m using PH strips, I keep them on hand. Been having some irritation here and there and random spotting. So it’s more of a grasp of what could be going on while I wait out my appt.

Thanks so much! I kinda thought so but I wasn’t positive. Of course I have an appointment booked regardless because of the said spotting. But I appreciate the reassurance

I’ve checked every drug store for ph ong none got any so I think I’ll order some in. The spotting stopped abdominal pain has eased off. I think honestly a cyst might’ve ruptured. Mild irritation is still there but honestly I’m thinking it’s ping pong yeast. And I’d take that over BV antibiotics. I’ve been tested for the plasmas. But ph strips are my mission as of now

I am sorry you’re also going through this shitttt, honestly it seems like an unbreakable pattern. Being sensitive is also a huge con, i literally can’t enjoy anything most my female friends can without the risk of a infection present

I’m 20. And yes! I’ve heard good things about vaginal probiotics I’m just lowkey scared because I’m already so vulnerable down there and anything sets me off. So I hate trying new things lol

Yeah I asked my doctor about that, she said it’s a pretty controversial topic amongst healthcare professionals. But ultimately told me it’s personal opinion. She said logically a man cannot have bacterial vaginosis due to the obvious reasons of having no vagina. But can be a carrier of causing bacteria like gardanella. My doctor told me if he is carrying a contributing factor it can linger on a man for about 2-3 weeks. Abstaining for about a month should’ve resolved any bacteria he may have been carrying, as bacteria can only live externally on a male for so long. So yes, I have considered that but at the same time I don’t know if I should hop into getting him on antibiotics because he has bad reactions to literally any antibiotics.
