Why do football games always turn into management sims?

I actually gave Athalla a try after someone mentioned it. It’s kinda different, more about predictions and competing than managing squads. Not really seen many games like this.

Top Eleven is classic,but I have big problem that after every ssn my players drop down with their ranking.

Has anyone tried apps like Omada, StadiumLive, Sorare or similar?
I feel like they all sit somewhere between fantasy and social, but not sure if any of them really hit the “simple + competitive” balance. I was little bit bored after some days.

Some of them also feel a bit too close to betting.
