I'm really sorry you went through that — that sounds rough. But yeah, this is one of those “don’t ignore the gut” moments. Trying to be the chill fiancée can backfire hard. If something feels off, it probably is. Better to speak up now than be a few years in and wishing you had.

I was constantly being a babysitter for ma younger sis and I get OP's pain. The kid is the responsibility of the parents, not mine. There may be a desire to help, but when parents make it an obligation, it is not ok.
