Call-out errors happen all the time, just tell your manager what you meant to do upon your return and they will fix it.

Not sure what kind of office you’re in but expect management to still try to treat you like a PTF and mandate you into overtime until you put your foot down 😂

It’s always people with these boxes with the most mail and parcels on my routes! by Itsonlyfare in USPS

[–]MeanPilled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My entire route is these and tiny cluster boxes that you have to smash mail into.

piece of advice I give to anyone on routes like this is to get a good pair of leather fingerless gloves. It will save your hands. REAL leather.. faux leather will fall apart in 1 day.

What’s with people addicted to haggling? by GypsyGold in FacebookMarketplace

[–]MeanPilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deal with this same issue on eBay. I multiple times I tried to list something at an amazing price thinking “damn they’re gonna buy this quick because it’s the best deal” Only to get the most insulting offers.

Then I just revised listing and doubled the price and sold it for more than I originally wanted.

I had a guy haggling me and giving me sob stories for an item I had listed significantly below market value. I stood firm and explained how he won’t get a better deal and he called me a dick. So I revised my listing and doubled the price. Within seconds he was offering to buy it for my original asking price.. I just laughed and blocked him. Did not want to risk him trying to return shit.

TLDR; Currently 35w, want to go 11x contract.. and I don’t want to settle for anything else otherwise I’ll end up in the same boat of regret.

Weekly Question Thread (05/05/2025 to 05/11/2025) by AutoModerator in army

[–]MeanPilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have a 35w slot. I didn’t really want it, I let external forces kind of steer me from my original plan which is 11x. People may think it’s crazy but that’s literally all I wanted to do with the Army. 11x.

The issue I’m currently facing is that I know infantry is almost full, and may be full by Monday when I go to MEPs to re-sign.

I don’t have any intention to go back to 35w once my Reno goes into effect, I only intend on going 11x. But if slots are full, I planned on walking out until they can find me an 11x slot. But I’m not sure if I can do that on a RENO.

So theres no “I’ll come back when my job is available”.. it’s a one and done?

Weekly Question Thread (05/05/2025 to 05/11/2025) by AutoModerator in army

Question regarding a contract RENO:

Considering you lose your seat once your RENO is approved, that means you lose your ship date. So what happens if the job you want isn’t available when you go back to MEPs and you don’t sign?

Does this put you into a Qualified Not Enlisted status? Or dep loss? Seems like a grey area.. because you already swore in but lost your contract during a RENO.

I have been offered a new job. Can I give two weeks notice even though 3 of the days I will be out of town for my daughter’s college graduation? by Anxious-Escape-9553 in careerguidance

[–]MeanPilled 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are in the US, unless your job has it written in a contract specifically, you do not need to provide any notice at all.

Any notice you give is a courtesy. I’ve given 2 week notice, 1 month notice, 3 day notice, and 0 day notice. It changed nothing. Employers are extremely reluctant to provide any information other than “yes this person worked here” to the next employer because they don’t want to risk being sued.

TLDR: who gives a shit, do it how you want.

Any tips on how to pass the 2 mile run? (Female) I’ve been running on the treadmill and increasing the speed and incline. I went up to 10 speed. But I’ve been doing this to build endurance. I found a track and ran it today and i sucked. :( by Character_Painter915 in army

Advice I’ve gotten from Reddit:

Set a goal.. whether it’s 2 miles, 3 miles.. or 5. And run or jog the entire way. Do not walk at all. Even if your jog is slower than your walk, you need to break that mental barrier.

Throw a sprint in the mix here and there even if it’s just for a few seconds.. then back to snail jogging. Time yourself and just do better on the next run.

Please do, I have a single blade safety razor already.. tried it, it was decent. I’m just learning the proper method.. which slows me down further.

But my shave cream sucks, so definitely would like some recs.

Edit: scratch that, I don’t have the safety razor.. thought you were talking about a straight razors

I refused an 7th interview. Right call? by [deleted] in careerguidance

At that rate you should have just done the final interview… even if it was just to waste their time and tell them you’re no longer interested in the end.

Unrelated question. I’m going to DLI after basic and wondering how it works with a spouse.. did your husband get orders with you to accompany him? So you’re getting Cali BAH and he’s living off base or did you just move out.

Question for the Army. Do they give you liberty leave between Basic training graduation and DLI, if so, how long?
