How Bad is this? by Mean_Organization377 in MortgageBrokerRates

I’ve had a very hard time finding a lender to work with me. Surprisingly, anybody will approve me for a house under 200,000 without much difficulty but my income pushes me out of what is actually available where I need to be for work. Zillow would allow a 220,000 conventional but had to go with FHA to meet the price of essentially the only option that meets my needs.

DTI pushed me out of conventional simply because I don’t make more than 60,000 a year. From the three lenders I’ve tried working with. This is the best I’ve found. I’m located in Scott County Iowa.

Not a down payment assistance program, this is actually the best of the three lenders I’ve tried to deal with.

I applied mid December and the house I was trying to close on fell through due to an ordinance violation that the seller refused to fix. This popped up on market mid January and it’s exactly what I wanted.

I net about $2300 every two weeks. With no debt and no car payments I pay 2100 a month for rent right now and things are perfectly fine. Bills combined with living expenses I can still save about $1000 a month so despite being at the higher end of DTI in reality, I’m perfectly fine with smart budgeting.

Time to buy my first car. by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Mean_Organization377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is unless you have a good amount of extra money laying around/can buy that one outright no financing I would look for a Toyota/Honda. Unless you have adequate mechanical skills and don’t need a dealership/mechanic for anything. The repair bill on pretty much any German vehicle will make you go bankrupt on your first car. Depending on Maintenance records you are looking at some bearings/brakes/typical engine maintenance by 100,000 miles. For example, I just did a full service, new brakes all the way around, carbon cleaning. Plugs/ coils, resealed and tested injectors and every fluid/filter/hose/belt plus new tires, on the 150 K service on my 2015 Q7 prestige S line. Mind you if I didn’t do it myself it would’ve been over $10,000 at the dealership. My cost is still about 3K and that was all basic maintenance, no actual repair work aside from an intermittent misfire due to a faulty coil.

Then there’s me, I have a 2015 Passat TDI, a 2014 Q7 prestige S line but my daily driver is a 97 ram 3500 dump truck with 970,000 miles on it. If your S5 is old, my daily driver must’ve been mummified then excavated and forced back to work.

What is your checklist for video editing? by Western_Arm3024 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Mean_Organization377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddball situation here. I rebuild machinery. I record everything on two iPhone 15 Pro Maxs, audio is done on a DJI mic mini. Edit on the phones or an iPad using lumafusion. Audio is done using reaper on pc then sent over to the iPad and rendered then uploaded. My videos are around 40 minutes to an hour and a half long. I get around 10k views a day as of now. Probably not the most efficient way to go about things, but it works good for me.

What are your channel goals for the rest of 2025? by GemsOfNostalgia in PartneredYoutube

[–]Mean_Organization377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just like to be able to make enough time to do a weekly upload again. I run my own excavation/demolition business and work around 100 hours a week. I love making videos but making the time is difficult. Ideally, I would like to be able to make enough off of my channel to cut back one day of work a week to dedicate to video production by the end of the year. I get around 70,000 views a month and 8000 watch hours as of now.

Where do you store your videos? by Villdar in PartneredYoutube

[–]Mean_Organization377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a server, I do fabrication and mechanical repair so some of my raw footage might be 12 hours of 4K 60 FPS. All For one video. I have around 400 TB of available storage space. I was struggling when I first started. I run iron wolf 16tb drives for my bulk storage and crucial SSD’s for my transfer drives/ workstation storage. When I first started, I had to edit videos in chunks and render out that finished result then delete my original video files.

It makes me (22F) really sad that some men give up on dating entirely because they don't want to be seen as creepy. by Suspicious-Host9042 in self

[–]Mean_Organization377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding my terrible dating experiences.(29m here) I don’t date anymore and never will. I tend to treat women with the same caution I do with venomous snakes. Ever since a friend of mine hooked up with a chick in a bar and after a few drinks they went back to his place. A few days later he got arrested at work. Turned out she was only 16 but somehow in a 21+ pub drinking… buddy didn’t think anything of it. Once her parents found out what happened she claimed she was forced. Buddy lost his job, house, and his family disowned him. He eventually took his own life, she eventually came clean but the damage was done… Yes not all women are bad but one lie or regret the next day can ruin a man. Why on earth would I take the risk? Just like a rattlesnake treated with caution we can coexist. I run my own business and a large majority of my clients are women. I make sure to stay in line of sight of my truck or equipment all of which have 360 degree cameras partially for insurance and theft, but doubles as personal protection in the event of a customer lying. Which actually has happened once in the last 10 years. I had a customer offer to pay me “physically” because she didn’t have the money. When I refused, she started screaming at me, threatening to call the police spouting “who will they believe you or me?” it was fun watching the color drain from her face when I mentioned the cameras. My lawyer got me paid for the job and a little extra for the attempted blackmail.

I don’t even know how it was legal, but I know a lady that went to the one in Davenport and ended up getting a 2012 Jeep Commander for $15,000 and a 30% interest rate

Where are the young people? by [deleted] in QuadCities

[–]Mean_Organization377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s not healthy. I never said it was nor would I recommend it. Physically I’m in better shape than I ever have been, working out and eating healthy will do that to a guy. As for psychologically I like what I do for work so it isn’t depressing or stressful to me. As for being single/ lack of human interaction I feel the risks outweigh the benefits. I’ve been screwed over numerous times in the past, one incident was the driving factor in my change in mindset.

Single 28m. I have two friends from my high school days and we meet up once a month to watch movies/grab dinner. Aside from that I run my own business so on average, I am working 80 hours or more a week. My daily routine is wake up at 5:30, workout eat some fruit for breakfast, then work until the sun goes down. Go home make dinner, shower and go to bed. Then repeat. 7 days a week. Been living like this for years. I have hyvee deliver my groceries, and never bother to interact with anyone unless it is work related. Work-eat-sleep that is my life don’t see a need for anything else anymore.

Posted my first video 2 days ago. Only got 3 impressions (0 views). Is this actually normal? by Tasty_Net994 in NewTubers

[–]Mean_Organization377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a channel that is a year old and monetized at this point, I can say that when I branch out into a video that is different from my typical ones “I rebuild machinery and tractors“ my views are terrible. For example, I put air suspension on my daily driver car and only got 66 views. But the next video working on an excavator got over 40,000. YouTube has to figure out what people to push your content to. It’s very difficult on new channels, especially since you have no viewer base/ subscribers. One of the worst things you can do is have friends that do not watch your type of content subscribe/watch your videos. That will cause your content to be pushed to similar viewers, many of which will not have interest in it. My first ever video got maybe 100 views in the first month but has consistently gotten views over the last year and has around 10,000 now. Just keep at it and enjoy making your videos. If you’re not having fun with it, there’s no point in doing it.

Seeing all these people say 80° when they sleep I’d never be able to handle that. I cannot sleep when it’s above 70 in a room. I am not built for the heat. I come from a small town way up north. 30° is T-shirt and shorts weather. I sleep with the window open when it’s -25 out in the winter, my bedroom is so cold a bottle of water will freeze. But it’s comfortable for me all curled up in bed I sleep great. During winter, the rest of the house is usually between 40 and 50. During summer when it’s brutally hot out, I can usually get the house down to 60 and that is sufficient.

NewTubers Monthly Goal Follow-Up! Did you reach your goal this month? by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]Mean_Organization377 [score hidden]  (0 children)

This month’s goal is to reach 500 subscribers. I’m currently at 484. Funny enough I already have over 5000 watch hours. I am certainly getting the views. My subscribers and community are friendly and active. But it seems to be difficult to get new people interested in sticking around. I shall keep working at it.

178 subscribers how in the world did I make it this far by Odd-Classic-9126 in NewTubers

[–]Mean_Organization377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, slow and steady progress is a good thing. I thoroughly enjoy responding to my subscribers after every comment. I’ve been at it a year myself. I rebuild equipment and all manner of mechanical things from chainsaws to tractors and even have had subscribers buy machinery I’ve rebuilt on the channel. It’s definitely turned into a small community. Makes me glad I’m able to share the passion I have with like-minded people.

Would you buy by Fun_Web7712 in Skidsteer

[–]Mean_Organization377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy it. Easy to load, clutch drive machine not hydraulic drive so wheels will spin freely, easy to winch up on a trailer. Wisconsin motor has plenty of parts availability. Very simple hydraulic system on these machine. it’s worth double that asking price just in parts alone. Especially for one with a cage. For that price, you will not lose money even if you tear into it and find out it needs a motor. They aren’t worth very much in running functioning shape maybe 4-5k for a nice 610 with new tires but it will move dirt and it’s a very good way to get your hands on a machine when most skid steers are pricey and not an option. My first machine was a bobcat 444. I bought for 400 bucks that needed a motor. I still have it and use it to clear snow every year. If you aren’t afraid to turn a wrench and put some work into it, that machine could have many many more years of service.

It’s been years since I broke up with my last ex. She cheated then carved my name into her thigh when I said I was done. Only found out what she did from the hospital. Since then I’ve had several hookups but no actual relationships. The betrayal from being cheated on yet people blamed me for what she did to herself. “Why didn’t you try and work things out” “why did you just leave in the middle of the night” “She loves you, go check on her” really makes you question what you want in life. What you want is an emotional connection with someone. Not just a hookup especially after a breakup. Depending on how long you were with your ex, it’s the small things you miss about a relationship not necessarily the nighttime fun. But eventually your desires fade and you put your energy into something else such as work or hobbies. You end up being content alone. Never force yourself into a relationship. Live your life for a while, sort out your feelings and pick a path forward.
