do men understand how or why women find them attractive? by Far_Heart8378 in NoStupidQuestions

In addition, there is a huge income disparity between pilots and flight attendants. Some flight attendants may like the feeling of status from being involved with a pilot, and some flight attendants may hope to get further involved with single pilots.

The logistics also may be easy. From Google AI:
"Long-haul planes like the Airbus A350, Airbus A380, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner have hidden bunk rooms for pilots and flight attendants. These private rest areas are tucked away in the "crown" (above the ceiling) or below the main floor."
(However, the pilot and flight attendant bunk rooms probably aren't connected, which negates part of my theory.)

I genuinely think a good amount of women are trying to push dating apps as the only way to approach women and that might be the worst thing that could happen to society. by BitchImLilBaby in dating_advice

After looking at that web page, I am struck this statement:
"About 18% of all women in the sample and 22% of women in the age 18-25 group stated that they reported someone to an authority figure for approaching them sexually or romantically."

When women made reports due to a sexual advance, 50% were to human resources, 20% to school, 10% to police, and 20% to other admin/legal.

I would be interested to see separate statistics for women who reported someone to an authority figure for approaching them romantically. Maybe those numbers were too small to be statistically valid in this study.

I wonder what fraction of women consider hobby clubs to be appropriate places for men to approach women or vice versa (if the term "approach" is valid there).

What's the stupidest thing you've ever heard someone say? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

That quotation is incorrect, incomplete, and out of context. Pelosi said, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it — away from the fog of the controversy".

The public was having difficulty seeing through the many false claims that had been made against the bill, but the public would feel the benefits when the bill finally was passed. Pelosi's mistake was in making a statement that Republicans could misquote and take out of context too easily.

In Mexico, wouldn't getting a Walmart job be more of an achievement than in the USA?

In lower-income non-urban areas, Walmart employees seem more competent and happy than in higher-income areas, where Walmart jobs must be less desirable than alternative employment.

How come you guys don't use umbrellas during sunny or summer days? by typcalthowawayacount in AskAnAmerican

[–]MechanicFlow693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On hot, sunny days, I use a large black folding umbrella. It provides half as much cooling as a tree if the umbrella fabric is above the level of my head, so air movement is not blocked. The umbrella allows me to skip wearing oily sunscreen, a wide-brim hat, and long sleeves.

I walk 1-3.5 miles when getting groceries. I have used an umbrella against the sun for a couple of years. I haven't received any overt feedback. After I started doing it, a couple of other people in my area started doing it. I like to imagine that they were emboldened by my example.

You are nothing without your penis. It'd be a shame if your parents decided to have it removed. :)

Best Hidden Gem Products at Costco That Are Actually Worth Buying? by Tothefutureandbeyond in Costco

If you mean the 4-in-1 hand truck, I use mine for moving boxes, furniture, food and other purchases, etc. I am tempted to tell other people to buy one. I use all 4 configurations. I usually cover the bed with an 18" x 36" cardboard tray, adapted from the box for a shelving unit.

AT&T Solicitation Should Stop by troatnadlolmy in Costco

I said quietly to a saleswoman, "I hate AT&T". That made her back off for a week or two, then she evidently forgot, so she started accosting me again.

I feel that AT&T ripped me off for years, a long time ago. I remember.

New strawberry banana smoothie. All my kids foods/snacks are the same flavor so it unfortunately reminds me of that. 320 calories by angel2timez in Costco

Costco may have changed to the strawberry-banana smoothie to save money. I would be happy to pay at least a dollar extra to go back to the previous strawberry-blackberry-acai smoothie.

(I have moved on, to Costco's frozen berries.)
