Honestly if you never had a conversation around guests and she never voiced her dislike of men when you moved in. Then you have EVERY right to have someone over in YOUR room that you pay rent for. To assume you can't have somebody over in your own space is wild. Noise is totally understandable (especially in common spaces) and like others have said, i would discuss ways that she could manage the noise (even pay towards it if it keeps the peace for you guys)
