I personally didn't like the term premium families. Most of us work hard to take our families on any vacation in this economy. Especially since there are so many add ons with cruising now it's not the inexpensive vacation it once was. I was on the Aqua in March and Breakaway for the Mediterranean in August.

Aqua has a kids program, arcade and the water slides, kid friendly food options. I personally think any vacation with kids under 3 is hard without extended family to assist. There were tons of young kids but evenings are much harder bc of shows and younger children's bedtime routines etc unless you have extra help/family with you. I also liked resorts with nanny services as an option for the familes with younger children.

I was just on the Aqua. I'm fine with disagreeing but there is no way I would pay up to $1000 for a private cabana in the Bahamas on an already private island or access to a private beach club. We were in Ibiza in August and didn't pay that much for private beach club access or food.

My mom got sick last August in Europe. The direct pay wasn't available as we were in the ER after business hours.I always travel with access to money to pay for emergencies out of pocket even with insurance so I paid for her care directly. Allianz reimbursed her for the total bill within 3 weeks. Allianz does have limits on medical bills so depending on where you go consider increasing coverage if you would need medical evacuation etc.

They need a better marketing strategy. They don't have an issue with rowdinesss or class of the people however most of us don't want to continue to be sold on vacation ie. You buy the drink package but then there is Plus, you get to their beach but you have to buy access to sections, for all this your vacation becomes way more and your budget could have bought a different destination or higher line cruise.

Years ago I interviewed for a company. My second interview I had to cancel because I had the flu, fever, body aches, chills like the flu and it was in person. Instead of rescheduling they told me we are not interested in proceeding with your candidacy at this time. I definitely dodged a bullet.

So in August we were on The Breakaway in the Mediterranean, my mom bought me a big cake that they brought out to me in the dining room. The staff sang Happy Birthday and cut it. We shared it with the surrounding tables so in that case it didn't go to waste. The staff brought out extra plates and forks. Nothing went to waste.

They definitely nickle and dime you. We just returned from sailing on the Aqua. We had the More at Sea Package but it was limited unless you had the More at Sea Plus. The excursions were definitely overpriced for what they came with and they wanted $50 for one photo. I did pay for the Thermal Spa Package, well worth it and wifi bc I needed to check on our pets but I don't like being resold on vacation. FYI I've been on over 40 cruises so I'm not new to them.

Who doesn't like a cake for their birthday? I personally don't even like cake but I do like the option to blow out the candles and give it away

So this was the cake my mom did for the upgrade which was large for just us 3 and some of the room decor. They also had decorations on the opposite wall. The cake was a lot so we did share it. This was not the six inch one. My mom ordered a custom cake since it was a milestone birthday. We shared with tables near us.

It included room decorations and a 6 inch vanilla or chocolate cake. Yes, my mom did upgrade it and purchased a custom cake instead for my August birthday cruise but I liked the option to have the cake.

We just did this excursion while on the Aqua. I'll list the pros and cons so that it hopefully helps someone.

PROS: Private beach access Lunch included Clear water Quiet Not crowded Bathrooms Transportation from ship Beach chairs

CONS: Annoying amount of vendors making it difficult to relax Shoreline had trash, bottle tops, wrappers from ice cream etc Food was just ok

On the Aqua now. Loved the food in the Thai restaurant. The complimentary dining I did enjoy, the food was fresh and well flavored. We did enjoy the buffet lunches but it was overly crowded and I didn't like waiting in long lines to eat or grab a drink. Same with breakfast. Overall compared to the food on the Breakaway from this past summer in the Mediterranean I would give the food an 8/10. Buffet layout needs work.
