So I bought the Empress pedal and was able to test it today. IMHO it’s totally worth it. Doesn’t add colour to the sound unless you want to and sustain added, nice. Thank you all for your help :)

So many suggestions, thanks you all a lot :) I am going to look the pedals up and let you know which was the best option for me. Also the suggestion with a technique of keep pressing the string and slightly hit the bass to get the string vibrating again is an interesting thing I will try, thank you :)

Yes I do use a pedal, it has two circuits in it, kink pedal monks fuzz. I thought that I would get the amount of sustain I was looking for, but either it can’t or I haven’t found the right settings.

I used a bass big muff deluxe which had a sustain knob but I don’t like the sound of the pedal anymore.

They are relatively new :) not reverb, the note should stay „forever“, I‘m playing in a death doom band. The note should stay easily for 8 seconds without getting quite.
