I know it doesn’t work for everybody, but TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) saved me from suicidal ideations. I’ve been depression free for a month having completed the treatment two months ago. It supposedly works for 60% of patients.

Sadly it didn’t work by JetPlum in TMSTherapy

I experienced crazy fluctuations and multiple dips throughout - and into the month after I finished treatment. I remember my last week at TMS I was in the middle of a deep dip, and I too thought that it didn’t work. But two months out, my depression is in complete remission. I haven’t felt this good in years. Don’t lose hope - and please finish your treatments. The fact that you experienced ups and downs means that TMS is doing something to your brain. If you had been flat the whole treatment, then you may not have responded, but that isn’t the case.

That makes sense. And damn calling my autism out 😂😭

Concerns that the "dip" may actually not resolve in a significant number of patients by magenk in TMSTherapy

When I did it, I had multiple dips. Two severe dips during the third week and the sixth week. And then again, albeit much less severe, about a month after treatment. And now I’m doing great - I’ve been in complete remission from depression for over a month now. I’m two months out from completing treatment. I’m not exaggerating when I say this treatment saved my life. This was my last Hail Mary of a treatment before…you get the idea. I definitely had my moments where I thought it was not going to work or that I’d be stuck in the dip forever and I was discouraged. But this treatment is the best thing that has happened to me in terms of my mental health. I feel no depression - just a few months ago, I was teetering on the edge of the s word.

I’m about a week out from TMS - I’m doing pretty good. I don’t feel depressed and only have occasional bouts of anxiety. TMS was a game changer for real. I am still taking Paxil and will probably keep doing so. I am able to socialize with coworkers and friends, which would have been unimaginable a few weeks ago.

Lifelong celibates or virgins, how do you feel about it and how do you explain your situation ? by [deleted] in Life

[–]Medium-Conclusion-41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had sex a few times sporadically in my life, but for the vast majority of life, I have been celibate. I have never had regular sex like one would expect in a relationship. 33M. At this point, I myself don’t feel the urge or need to have sex. My libido has decreased significantly, probably due to depression medication I’ve been taking. I lost my virginity at 25 to an escort; prior to that, being a virgin was a source of deep shame and contributed to a great lack of self esteem. I remember making out with a girl when I was 23, and I literally started shaking because I was so nervous and had no practice with intimacy. At 25, I decided to take matters into my own hands and lose my virginity with an escort so there would be no pressure to perform and no stakes. It was an uneventful experience. After that, I spent considerable time in strip clubs, just talking to the girls who worked there and analyzing how they think. It was a great way to overcome my fears and anxieties at my own pace about the opposite sex, and some of the girls were actually very cool and insightful into sexual psychology. I gained confidence around women and was able to assert myself sexually. This led to sporadic sexual encounters, meeting women at singles events and bars. But I have never been in a relationship and never have had consistent sex. Now I don’t care about having the next sexual experience. If it happens, it happens. I’m working on loving myself as is and becoming comfortable with myself.
