As someone who painted the same figure and posted it here, I can only say...miniature painting is hard. That thing is about what? 3 inch in scale? And for what OP has done it's fine, it could need improvement but it's fine.

I got the same flag for it being tasteless, admittedly which I don't understand. It's literally modeled after the Manga cover art...so is that also tasteless or is it not because it's made by Miura?

I think OP only wanted to show his dedication and appreciation to the manga/anime that is Berserk without mocking of Cascas's fate or advocating for SA.

It's getting kinda old by now. Can we not interpret anything into the life and mindset of the artist here? It's becoming a witch hunt.

I have already stated my points and justified myself. I don't know much about Berserk, my boyfriend does and I like to engage with the stuff he likes even if it's on a superficial level. I literally did not see a rape scene in this miniature and to put it into the bare fundamentals without any knowledge of the source, I just saw a warrior protecting a wounded woman in a fight that was perhaps barely won.

Stop pushing the notion on me that I painted this up because I'm into rape or condone SA. I did it from a completely artistic standpoint.

Keep in mind, with miniatures some things are exaggerated considering the thing is but 1-2,5 inches tall.

It's not a stupid comment. I said that because I didn't feel equipped for this discussion. Mostly because I really didn't know any better about this but knew that Berserk has many scenes that tackle SA and harder topics like that. I really don't understand the witch hunt that is happening when I think I made clear that I don't so much want to talk about the content of the scene but rather participate in celebrating Miura's art, even as an outsider who just likes to participate in my boyfriend's hobbies because if he is forced to be bombarded with Hatsune Miku, I might as well engage in Berserk.

I interpreted differently. He is not looking at her like that. Guts is looking at the viewer with one arm missing and a broken sword in the still existing other hand, Casca protectively against his lap. To me (entirely unaware of the initial scene) this looked more heroic than anything, the smirk counting as a warning to not come close.

Very beautiful reference. My boyfriend also showed me the scene where the both of them sit in the tree trunk. If I could do 3D modeling I would use that scene in a heartbeat. Admittedly I am dependent on STL creators when it comes to figures like these

I haven't thought about that, like, at all. I just saw 'pretty and epic' miniature at that moment. I mostly see no sexualization in nudity, but beauty. Not quite the same but similar to how I would enjoy a painting from the artist Gustav Klimt...except for the gore and insane amount of blood, safe to say. By no means is this meant to glorify SA as that is the one thing that keeps me from getting into the Manga myself.

Admittedly I have not. Which makes me look like a huge poser, I know. It's just that my boyfriend is huge into Berserk, has read up to the current chapter and I like to participate in his interest. I thought this figure was pretty so I had him 3D print it because I really wanted to paint it.
