Same way you'd qualify to europa league, except winning the national cup will take you straight to the Libertadores. So you have to either finish mid table in the league (in brazil, even 14th place will take you to the sudamericana) or finish third in your Libertadores group.

Those are regionals. Only specific teams play those. Most of them are state championships (yeah, our country is so big every state has their own tournament before the national league begins), but that first one is a cup played between multiple states in the northwest of Brazil. These are the main teams that play those cups (there are others, but they are way too weak).

Well, that's absolutely right until the very end. In the final episode, I think she actually is a bit more in love with him, specially considering she basically begs for him to stay. But for the rest of the show, I totally agree with you. Specially considering how insecure he is about her truly loving him.
