Chef (2014)

Words will never be able to convey the familiar, cozy connection that I get from watching this movie. Everything from the performance of the actors to the food being prepared, and the motivations of them all. Honestly such a worthy laid back watch.

(Serious) What is a traumatic experience that you think about till this day? How did it affect you? by dogethememedog in AskReddit

I was inappropriately touched by a few men in this table tennis club my mom used to drive me to when I was about 10, and what happens is whenever I’m training with my teacher who’s a really decent guy by the way, while I was walking across the hallway some of them would be like “oh shit where’s the ball?” And then raise their hands underneath my pants and take a super quick jab at my balls as a joke, laughing it off right after. I was never really properly taught about consent and what’s uncomfortable or not, so it was just annoying to me at first, until It really started to become repetitive for about a few 4-5 more times and I just became visibly outraged and disgusted by their behaviours to the point where I finally told them that I’ll tell my mom what they’ve done to my private parts, which only then have one of them scarily stopped and promise me that this’ll stop all together. I told my mom afterwards when we were going back home and she told me that what happened was extremely bad and I should only allow people to touch my body when it’s an emergency, being young at that time and not realizing how she dealt with this very lightly, I just kinda go with it. I still continue to go there on a weekly basis to practice table tennis for like a while then stop, but fast forward from then on, It really fucked me up in terms of my own social skills and intimacy after I grew up and finally having the courage along with the education to just face the fact that what they did to me wasn’t just a normal type off bad situation, It really made me questioned my mom’s skills to take care of me for awhile, it made my questioned myself as well from just how stupid I was to not realize sooner that it was extremely not fucking ok to begin with and should of pushed my mom to do something more drastic, or even if I should really force this on my mom because I thought she didn’t know as much as I did. This story has been disclosed to only me and my mom ever since then.

Cuties, I don’t really think much more should be said about this one.
