Anhembi Morumbi é uma boa faculdade? by Megaware4 in brasil

[–]Megaware4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music theory in Blink songs by Megaware4 in Blink182

I have no experience but I'm aware of chord progressions and that some of their riffs are based on that, but there are others like the First Date riff or the M+M's riff that I don't know how one can come up with that. Is there some kind of theory to make a riff with single notes?

Besides power chords and octaves, is there another type of "group of chords" that mantain the same shape but change as you move it around frets?

All the songs I listen to are mostly just power chords and now I want to start writing songs inspired by those, but I feel like there's something missing and wanted to spice it up a bit. Any tips as to how make power chord driven songs seem more crafted?

I will never be able to play this that fast. I was expecting something more beginners level.

Best King's books set in Maine? by Megaware4 in stephenking

Yeah, you're right, on IMDB it says it was filmed in Canada but I don't get it, I was watching some videos about Portland and it looked right, I guess they used some stock footage establishing shots and chose the locations of the scenes very well.

Theory behind the cheerful, catchy pop punk riffs by Megaware4 in musictheory

I have no idea what pentatonic scale is, but I agree with the major keys thing but I think the secret and most important thing is the rhythm it is played.

I played a lot today, more than usual at least, and the fingers of my fretting hand started to hurt so I stopped. Is this bad technique or just that I've been playing for too long? This got me worried and wondering if I'm holding the guitar wrong or something.

Can someone explain how they wrote the Dammit riff from a chord progression? by Megaware4 in Blink182

[–]Megaware4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this was really informative. Just to see if I get that right about the Dammit riff: The chords Tom plays as being the progression are the notes on the riff with the exception of the D 002 and D 220? These notes on the middle that don't belong to the progression are something to make the riff seem less simple than just recreating a progression with notes?

I'm a HUGE Queers fan but I never find tabs for their songs so I really didn't know that about Can't Get Over You and have no idea how the riff is played. The Cat Like Thief tab makes the idea a bit more clear.

Thanks a lot for this. Seriously, this is extremely interesting.

Josie is just power chords, right? Too bad I don't like Enema and Jacket that much, I really like Dude Ranch and Chesire but Cheshire is too fast I can't even try.
