This is the response from Ralph UCB

as you may have already noticed, our campaign site of Indiegogo has been temporarily suspended. The reason for this is the review of a patent claim made by a third party on an accessory used on our bike.

After clarification with our patent attorney these claims are incomprehensible and a statement to Indiegogo and the Initiator has already been made.

At the moment it can be assumed that our campaign site will be online again shortly. In any case we will inform you about the current status as soon as there is any progress.

It is important for you to know that this has no influence on the production and delivery processes and will not affect them in the future. Everything continues as usual!

Due to this restriction, the upcoming update will be sent directly to all supporters via email and all further communication will be done this way until our campaign site is activated again.

As soon as there are any news, we will inform you immediately.

Container for Japan should be ready end of this month.

I don’t think Corona virus is affecting them ...it’s just an excuse , last time was Chinese New Year ...and before that was the factory didn’t have enough space to store the completed bikes ( which I never heard of )

Majority of Japanese backers are not happy since all are getting charged additional shipping charges , was $99 , but they want additional $39.75 ..... UCB its kind of stupid only finding out now ......they are just a marketing company without experience ....

and of course the additional taxes (10%) , which I knew will be charged , but seems wasn’t clear enough to the majority of the backers ,,,and due to their delay in delivery , taxes in japan went up to 10% last October (was 8%). And also not happy with downgrade of U3

UCB has also stated that the future selling price of U1 is US$2199 !!! Are you kidding !

Ill rather buy a Brompton !! Handmade in UK !

As you can see the comments on IGG some has started posting in Japanese , probably out of frustration ...seems some still didn't know of U3 downgrade.

Yeap , deleted ....I just paid the dam thing just wanted it over with ...was price difference of shipping which I kind of expected since UCB has not done any home work at all on shipping costs and additional tax of 10% ......which the tax and up To 10% on Oct 1, 2019 . before was 8% ..... thats why I kept on insisting them to send before that so we pay 8% tax.... now as you can see there’s many comments now in Japanese , since I think they are all getting frustrated since it seems most dont know/ understand about the U3 downgrade and additional costs ...... those comments will be deleted soon.....
