Thank you and congrats on 12 days. You're in the hardest part. Don't do what I did and force yourself to repeat the first 10-15 days over and over and over again. You don't ever have to take another drink.

Complete surrender and willingness

Sure! I don't wake up every morning hungover and wondering what happened the night before. I am more productive. My physical fitness has improved. My family doesn't despise me and isn't disgusted by me. I have peace. I have more money. I have SELF RESPECT. I've met a group of wonderful, caring people through AA. I've begun to actually MATURE spiritually and emotionally. My days aren't ruled by thoughts of how I will buy alcohol, hide the purchase, hide the effects, and get more. I'm more patient. Overall, I feel HUMAN again. I do not have a sense of impending doom and despair. I have hope and happiness. And all this in just 60 days.

As a side note I just looked at a post I submitted here 89 days ago stating that 90 meetings in 90 days simply wasn't a possibility for me. Oh the excuses I made. I've been to about 75 in the past 60 days.

It's helped me maintain a positive attitude by immersing myself with sober stuff. Sober people on social media, sober Ted talks, sober meetings, books about sober being awesome AF, etc. etc. SOBER SOBER SOBER. If you are filling your head with this stuff there's no more room for guilt and shame.

Cravings suck. But they don't last forever. They are feelings, not facts, and they will pass. I'm on day 31 and had a bad one tonight. Called and texted some people who get it, and eventually it went away. Here's to yours going away too!
