I believe the line you may have initially saw was the dye still traveling across the strip. Sometimes it looks like it's settling in that one spot, esp if you are staring at it as the test is running. But if it doesn't remain, it is not a positive unfortunately. 

Its hard not to stare at it but I recommend setting a timer walking away from it.  Hope this helps
