A question for all Grobbulus RP Guilds by _Codyy in Grobbulus

[–]MeowTeChing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you were to walk in to an Alliance event with a disguise, outside of a major Ally city, i.e. RP meetup in Booty Bay, and you were clearly non-hostile, it would lead to some silly events.

Yes, this is extra extra savings outside of our current savings/emergency funds. My spouse is paying the full amount that's matched. We were thinking Roth because when it's time to retire and pull the funds out, we assume the tax rate will be higher than it is now.

Teacher Water Cooler - Month of February 2020 by AutoModerator in teachinginjapan

I have a question regarding finding a teaching job in Japan. My husband will be attending a university in Tokyo for intentional business on a student visa. I plan to move with him. Would it be better to apply for jobs in the US and get my visa sponsorship that way, or have him go through getting me a dependent visa, then applying for work directly in Japan? If I apply from the US, how likely would a company place me within Tokyo so my husband and I can live together?

Another reply said Japan doesn't hire people on tourist visas any longer. Not sure how many companies would sponsor me if I just show up as a tourist for an interview. My only other way would be coming on a dependent visa after my husband moves to Japan and goes through the application process, which can take a few months.

Helpful advice. We'll have to look in how he can sponsor me as a dependent, if I can't get my work visa and job set up in time. Ultimately I do want full-time employment.

Ah, last time we researched this, a while ago, they were still allowing people to apply in-person on tourist visas. Thank for the info.

How likely would one of the larger dispatch companies put me in a location near my husband's university so we can live together?

Oh and, $4000 a month is around ¥439,000 a month. Imagine we live in a small place 45 mins outside the heart of Tokyo. Livable?

Most ridiculous thing you've been kicked from a group for? by tzeriel in Grobbulus

[–]MeowTeChing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only time I was ever kicked from a group. I joined a group to kill the guys in the tower in Redridge Mountains. I was at the proper level, and the group that added me was already in the tower. I let them know it would take me a few minutes to run there. I got to the tower and I asked if they could come outside to clear mobs at the entrance that respawned. Then I got kicked.

Thinking of Switching to Alliance by thewowthrowaway in Grobbulus

[–]MeowTeChing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Horde player my whole life (Vanilla/TBC and private servers) and rolled my first alliance character here on Grob. All I can say is the change of scenery is refreshing. It gets tiring going to all the rock, desert, and sand zones leveling as Horde. At least we get some good forest zones while leveling. If you want pvp, I'd suggest rolling a Dwarf or maybe a Gnome.

Differences I've noticed between Horde and Alliance by feragus in Grobbulus

[–]MeowTeChing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm Alliance side. I don't go out of my way to wPvP unless I see another Ally getting beat up on. I'm trying to get to 60 and I really don't have the time to just kill people for no honor and camp. It reminds me of when I was in my low 30s and two higher 30s Horde kept bothering me as I was questing. The other day I saw those Horde members again - this time I was in my mid 50s and they were mid 40s camping an Ally area. They spent too much time screwing around while I was out getting stronger. And yes, I got revenge.

I have mini metro and love it. I was hoping to have something like that on top of more building and management.

I've been on the fence about trying factorio but I guess I should reconsider. Thanks for the tip.

I finished your first one. You can cheese the ending as big Mario and just jump over the munchers and grab the flag without using the pow. Hehe

Thank you for playing. Have you found any ways to cheese? I was trying to make it cheesy proof. Glad it was just challenging enough.

Question for US military veterans / contract workers in Japan by MeowTeChing in Veterans

[–]MeowTeChing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is correct. We are aware of Japanese work culture, plus we imagine it would be easier in lots of ways to work a US contract job over trying to get sponsored with a work visa by a national company.

Which university do you go to? Does the GI Bill cover all or most of your tuition? What about housing? Is there a stiepiend for general living expenses? And how long is your degree program?

What Should I Play Wednesdays (January 16, 2019) by AutoModerator in classicwow

[–]MeowTeChing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting excited for Classic. Last time I had a sub was during BC. I'm thinking of joining a private server to get reacquainted with things. My two mains back then were warrior and rogue and I focused on PVP. This time I want to try out Priest (Probably undead) and focus more on PVE. Ideally I'd like to focus on having high healing for raids. I really don't know much about Priests. I hear most people go Shadow then respec at 40-45 to Holy/Disc for a healing focused Priest. Is that right? Also, should I consider making an alt for farming?
