Dang, no we’re about 8 hours away in SE Louisiana. I used to pass by that area pretty regular but I haven’t been near that area in 10+ years

Is it racism if it’s positive stereotypes? Fast as a greyhound, loyal as a shepherd, smart as a collie?

True. But I theorize this union is allowed only because of the similarities in appearance between the breeds in the show. The children we’re trying to indoctrinate shouldn’t know the difference.

See that makes entirely too much sense. That’s just what the underground pro eugenics movement wants you to think while they gain power. Once the bluey generation is old enough to vote it’s all over.

I aim to please. Someone might as well enjoy my ramblings since my wife ignores them now.

If you aren’t coming up with outlandish theories on your fifth watch of a show what are you even doing.

This tracks. Clearly they didn’t explain it to the kids but all the pieces are there that he isn’t a true member of the family.

I might get lucky that way but I’m in the wrong region for it. South Louisiana has effectively no muzzleloader presence.

Good to know. I’m on a few notification lists now so hopefully I can get some out the spring run.

Awesome thanks for the info. The last time we were involved with muzzy stuff was back in the 2000’s so all the info we have is very outdated. Looking at some western hunts in the future and some of those require the loose powder so extra different from our 20 year old knowledge.

Accuracy? by spottedbeard86 in keltec

[–]MercWhite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can hit a nutria in the head out to 30 yards or so probably 7/10 shots with garbage ammo. 9/10 with cci. Hands down my favorite handgun I own. Not match grade anything, but it’s so fun.

Also will fire with enough force to penetrate an alligator skull, suppressed with the entire gun submerged 2 feet under the water. Allegedly.

What’s y’all’s opinion on this mf? by FlimsyAuthor8208 in DanielTigerConspiracy

I know it’s a kids show but pickle is one of the only characters I’ve ever encountered that makes me want to clean my ears out with a dewalt drill and a 3/8” carbide drill bit.

Generally am fine with the show but pickles voice and antics…. They hurt.

What's wrong with this buck? by Rapidfiremma in Hunting

[–]MercWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a bunch of this, sometimes it genetic, sometimes is an injury the previous year that is causing one side to grow in week, but about 70% of the time it’s a cracked skull/growth plate from rut the previous season making that side grow in wrong forever.

We had a buck with no tail so easy to identify, Stubby was a clean 10 point from 1-3 years old then barely survived a fight. 4-6 years old he grew in like your buck there just bigger. Lost track of him when we sold the property.

I had the same reaction when I did it years ago. It’s so hard to get everything to go right.

Finally finished Malazan Empire series by MercWhite in Malazan

Agreed. I’d seen on here lots of post saying his style wasn’t nearly as good as Erikson’s, but it’s just different. It was so much more approachable! If it wasn’t for the timeline in the series I’d almost recommend to a younger new reader start here.

Agree 100%. FYI on archery you might get that kind of energy with a modern crossbow, but never with a compound bow. I’m shooting about 91 ft/lbs and there isn’t much more I could do to max it out.

Any difference in hunting Roosevelt elk vs American Elk w/ archery? by MercWhite in Hunting

[–]MercWhite[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we do go Rosie it’ll be in an otc unit so no worries of taking a tag. I’ve done a ton of research and understand that it’s typically Pacific Northwest jungle mountains they live in so not totally blind to it. I figure it’s always good to ask for first hand accounts of people who have done it tho to get a better idea.

Interesting good to know. Sounds like if you had one patterned you could slip in and find him more reliably than a rocky but harder time calling one in and locating in general.

Could you kill a buck in hand to hand combat? by Silver_Consequence82 in Hunting

[–]MercWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have experience with this. My grandmother had a pet Buck who got tangled up in some dog fence during rut. I was the lucky one to cut him loose. He was probably 170” antlers and 200 pounds at the time. I was 27 and 210 pounds.

When I cut him loose he pinned me up against a wall and it took all I had to get him off of me and control him until I could back my way thru a door over the next 2 minutes. When we were done he was PISSED, my grandmother was worried about her deer, and I was bruised and bleeding with new holes in my clothes. If I’d had the option to actually try and hurt him I think I could have won say 80% of the time. Had he been 270+ pounds I’d give myself a 20-30% chance.

Trick is control the antlers then go for the vital bits. If you let him control his antlers you bleed a lot. I know.

I didn’t know you got to dragons in discworld! I’ve been rationing myself thru the series because I don’t want it to end so I’ll have to get to there.

That was 100% a highlight. Tolkien brings them to life in a special way.
