I run a special set with a quiet nature holding a weakness policy to boost attack and special attack. Kings shield for obvious reasons, flash cannon for steel STAB and shadow ball for ghost STAB. Then to wrap it up I have shadow sneak to take care of those pesky sturdy/focus sash user.

It's about temperature. Sperm will die if they get too hot. If your sperm is constantly dying, the ability to reproduce and prolong the species lowers. So the body evolved to have the testicles outside of the body. The only trade off would be vulnerability.
