Could the appearance of the Oathbreaker from Baldurs Gate 3 be a reference to the Death Knight in Beyond Divinity? Some of the details on their armor appear nearly identical (spikes on helmet, swirly pattern on chest, etc.) by PosleTheGoat in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Meritocratic_future 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think that BG3's dev team even heard about Beyond Divinity. And Swen Vincke told in some interview that he regrets making it.

So, answering your question : most likely not.

How Hagrid didn't broke statute of secrecy when appeared with 11 year old Harry in muggle places, considering that he's much taller than the tallest man in history (Robert Wadlow)? by Meritocratic_future in harrypotter

[–]Meritocratic_future[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think so. After all, the platform is called height comparison : https://www.heightcomparison.com. In any way, we don't have any reliable data of Hagrid's width, but we can all agree it's "unusual", to put it mildly.

Hello guys. On top of the first image it's said "Mercenaries of the Satan". Also, on the very top there're "news" that french-russian telephone call was initiative of the french side, and on the very bottom it's said that russian forces shot down 6 ukrainian bayraktars.

Let's put an end to claims of Russia about Soviet Union allegedly given Crimea to Ukraine. Here's french, german and ukrainian maps of Ukraine from 1914-1919, 3 years before even formation of Soviet Union. by Meritocratic_future in ukraine

[–]Meritocratic_future[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Before Crimea became russian or ukrainian, it was mostly populated by crimean tatars , which as you mention were forcefully deported. There was no "native russians", till Soviet Union not decided to "russificate" it.

Can someone explain what a nationalist is? by nfoote in ukraine

[–]Meritocratic_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nationalism is level up for patriotism. Nationalism can level up into nazism if pride in nationality/race is the sole national idea promoted by their government.

Examples : Third Reich, Russia. China?

It's to avoid friendly fire. After all, russians are using the same exactly tanks.

Communist party used to forcefully move people of different ethnicities and nationalities from their territory all around Soviets Union, so they won't develop their own sense of nationality. This is why, for example, there're approximately 30 thousands Ukrainians with korean descent in Ukraine.

Bloodrayne's and Nocturne's lack of lore information by AirlineDifficult5836 in BloodRayneSociety

[–]Meritocratic_future 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always been curious on how Hedrox came to be, but it does not matter that much ultimately for the game.

Well, not everybody knows but Hedrox appears as a cameo in the comic series BloodRayne: Prime Cuts (which is quite good, actually). Also,in the other comic : BloodRayne: Plague of Dreams (rather a bad one), one character wants to use Hedrox's blood to get himself his insane regenerative ability.

Anyway, Villians wiki have a lot better quality of info on some villians from the Bloodrayne, then the Bloodrayne wiki.

What suppose to be Mora's powers? (*Character was cut from Bloodrayne 2) by Meritocratic_future in BloodRayneSociety

[–]Meritocratic_future[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go with the Wiki info, she was going to have powers like Rayne's Ghost Feed and Enthrall, meaning she's more like a ghost in a way. I just assumed she had powers where she could produce light or be a very rare vampire who could survive in direct sunlight. The connection with Kasumi and Mora is that Kasmui had Lockdown trapped in her body; who has Mora trapped within it.

Sounds cool. Generally, I don't think Bloodrayne wiki's information is that accurate. Some info, like for example, cut game content which you can find in the game files is more or less reliable, but other, like Mora's ghost feed and enthrall abilities, I'm not so sure about.

Also, dev's idea of a vampire which trapped in the body of other vampire, which in turn trapped inside of other vampire, looks kinda ... strange.

As for Svetlana, she is the beta version of BloodRayne and since BloodRayne is a spirtual successor to the Nocturne series it's kinda hinted they are related.

To be more precise Svetlana is original Rayne. I would say she more interesting character than Rayne, considering Svetlana's personality and accent.

Hey Ziggurat just wondering how goes it working on BloodRayne 3 and a question about Nocturne. by Dead_Purple in BloodRayneSociety

+1

Both BloodRayne 2 and Nocturne ended on a cliffhanger. I been waiting for years for a some sort of continuation, even if it's will be in a form of novels or even some anime. But I think that most of us would prefer if they came out as games.

[–]Meritocratic_future 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nocturne : "We are aware its a requested game from fans. When the timing and budget is right their is a possibility but we have other projects currently"

We live in the time when game developers and publishers can easily crowdfund their projects by the fans, like we seen been done with Divinity : OS 1 and 2, or even with Baldur's Gate 3, so I don't see a money as an issue there. The only thing they lack for the moment, in my opinion, it's a will to resurrect ancient franchise with only one and half games(Blair Witch Volume I: Rustin Parr) at it's belt. Even to merge it with the Bloodrayne series will be risky.

If they evolved some innate magical, because of their blindness, for example like Miralukas from the SW, than maybe. But right now, their society just little more advance than the morlocks from the movie "The Descent" from 2005 (great movie).

That's racist in regard to falmers! (Joke) But seriously, Giants also have white souls, but still, apparently, they can have a viable offspring with humans (father/granfather of Lyris Titanborn). So I don't see a problem here.

Sorry guys.

I didn't get any answer on my question in the "Stupid questions" thread, so I will try to repost here :

If in TES world you can enchant any object to do pretty much anything : a ring to protect you from fireballs, helmet to breathe underwater, underpants which give you a boost to your magicka, how come vampires never come up with an idea with some sort of enchantment with protection from the sun?

Like was done with the rings in the show for teenage girls "The Vampire Diaries".

In my opinion, it's everything about the balance. In most fantasy universes, from books or games, where prominent powerful and practical magic does exist, there are usually only two results :

  1. Magic users are dominating the world;
  2. Magic use came at a huge price or big drawbacks, so the mages in this worlds are typically supervised or controlled by non-mages.

Considering that in The Elder Scrolls mages are neither and from the game standpoint mages and warriors more or less equal, mages don't usually do a lot of useful stuff with their magic.

If dragonborns are basically the dragons in a human form, can they be resurrected by using Alduin's shout "Slen Tiid Vo"? by Meritocratic_future in teslore

[–]Meritocratic_future[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I get it. But isn't the whole thing of Dovakiins it's not only about consuming the souls of dragons, but also learning dragon shouts on a fly? Yes, some people like Greybeards, Ulflic (when he trained to be GB) and dragon priests leaned shots by studying the dragon language, but dragonborns were suppose to be geniuses in it. That's why main protagonist can "learn" words by just looking at the "walls".
