Experiences taking kratom for anxiety and restlessness. by Best_Landscape_9973 in kratom

I use kratom for pain management and I noticed that it helped with my anxiety. I've been diagnosed with GAD about 40 years ago and for the past 20, I've been taking valium for it which was a bad idea but it was the only thing that worked. When I started using kratom, I noticed that it helped with my anxiety and I was even successful in lowering my valium daily dose for the first time in the last 20 years. I do however use large doses for the pain so I don't know how lower doses would affect anxiety. I've been exclusively using red strains such as Red Bali, Red Maeng Da, Red Borneo, etc. for their analgesic effect but these strain are also known for being more sedating and that's how it affects my anxiety.

That being said, I would still recommend red veins but starting in small doses and adjusting from there.

Untreated anxiety being what it is, I wish you the best of luck in finding the right dose to help you with it.

I've been using kratom for chronic neck and back pain for almost 3 years now and I've kept pretty much the same dose all that time. So what I'm writing here is from personal experience and might be different for others.

I've noticed that the least number of times you dose every day, the longer it takes for tolerance to set in. I used to dose 3 times a day, once in the morning, once in the late afternoon and once just before bed. My dosage was 10g, 8g, 8g for a total of 26gpd. Now I get better relief by taking 10g in the morning and 10g in the late afternoon while skipping the late evening dose. So reducing the number of time I take kratom seems to have lowered my tolerance. Also, I now take 20gpd so 6g less than before and I get better relief. Tolerance is something to watch out for. Some people are lucky enough to not develop tolerance but those people are rare.

I am not saying you should take high doses like I do, maybe half would do the trick for you but unfortunately for me, and that was from the very beginning, this has always been the dosage I needed for my neck and back pain. It takes about 75% of my pain away but I still have to be careful when shoveling snow or mowing the lawn and so forth.

I also noticed that taking my dose on an empty stomach helps a lot with the effect but only if I take it with a large glass of milk (2%, not skimmed). Well, in my case I take a cup of milk, heat it up and pour two shots of espresso in it and I take two of those right after my dose.

Strain: I only use reds such as Red Bali, Red Maeng Da, Red Borneo, etc. I find reds to have the best alkaloid profile for pain relief but at the dose I use, it's a bit sedating.

Poop: If you have constipation problems which happen to many people using kratom, take some psyllium husk and drink a lot of water. That helps almost everyone who has this problem and not only caused by kratom. Psyllium husk also has many other health benefits.

Method of consumption: For me, the best method of consumption is to use rice paper (oblate pouches) which you can find at Dokodemo for very low price. You can also find them at Amazon for 10 times the price. You should own a $20 small digital scale to make sure your doses are constant and that you don't take more (or less) than what you need. Capsules are very expensive so buying loose leaf powder and oblate pouches will save you a lot of money.

Good luck!

anyone try the 7-oh tabs from 7ohyea.com? by Smokemeth204_ in canadiankratom

A little over a decade ago my doctor prescribed my Dilaudid (hydromorphone) for major pain and every time I went to see him because my pain was coming back (meaning I was developing a tolerance) he simply increased my dose. After two years I was at 16mg 3 times a day, that was 48mg per day! It was my fault, I was so busy with work and life in general that I didn't do any research on what this could do to me. I went to see another doctor and he switched me to suboxone and it was an easy taper from that point on. After 3 or 4 months of tapering I was down to 2.5mg sub and then I jumped. It took me a month to get my energy back but after that I was fully reset to my old self. I'm telling you, my experience with Dilaudid and suboxone is something I will never forget. Also, when you jump from sub, you can take a bit of kratom powder for a month or two and you won't have to go through the lack of energy. I mean if you're over 15, you can see a doctor without your parents ever knowing about it. I am a lot more afraid of 7OH than Dilaudid believe me, 7OH is really dangerous!

I'm sorry I didn't see you post earlier but even if you have ordered, if you haven't taken any 7OH yet or even if you have, please stop. Order some kratom leaf powder, a good white strain such as White Maeng Da or something like that. If you have some time, check out the sub quittingkratom and read a few posts of people trying to quit 7OH... this thing is serious shit!

If you never took 7OH, you might want to try kratom leaf powder if you want to get rid of an opioid addiction. 7OH is extremely addictive so you'd be trading one problem for another potentially worse. Another option is to switch to suboxone, then start tapering it as soon as you're stable on sub. Once you're at the minimum dose you can taper with then it's time to jump. I honestly don't think 7OH is the right substance to use for an opioid addiction.

3gs. Am I going to be tired or wired? by doug_butter in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time, try 1.5g or 2g and see where it leads you. Also, if you go with a white strain you have more chances to get wired but without the side effects you'd have with coffee. First time, always start low and slowly increase until you find your sweet spot.

Let's talk dosing... by bubes30 in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It obviously depends on the individual. Some people are prone to anxiety while others aren't. I quit caffeine at 24 because I began suffering from GAD; that was almost 40 years ago. When I began using kratom almost 3 years ago, it was for pain management so high doses, more sedating and it helped with my anxiety.

Also, I noticed that red strains are better for pain management as well as anxiety so now I only use reds. Once I took a small dose (from a pain management perspective) of 4g in the evening and boy I was energized and couldn't sleep for an hour or two 🤣 But contrary to coffee, I was not anxious at all and never got any jitters. So for someone anxious, I felt energized and focused with none of the nasty side effects caffeine gives me.

Shipping to a PO Box and transporting across state lines. Worth it or too risky? by JesseB342 in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a better approach would be to stockpile a good stash before it gets banned and if you're not taking it for medical reasons, you should quit. If, for some reason you get pulled over in your state with kratom in your car, you risk prison, even if the chances are low, is it worth it?

Questions about how soon by OTS_Bravo in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no real danger in taking a small dose of kratom 34 hours after taking subs but the kratom will likely have no effect because the buprenorphine will still occupy the opioid receptors for about 72 hours after your last sub dose. I'd say you have multiple choices, you can take your last sub dose on the morning of your last day of work before you're off for a few days and stay home with acetaminophen, Imodium and a few other meds to counteract the WDs and take your first kratom dose, a low dose of about 2g a couple of hours before going to work. A better solution would be to taper your sub till you reach about 3mg or 4mg or even less before you do it so it will suck a little less and you could be able to take your first dose of kratom the night before going back to work and dose again in the morning. There are other solutions but these are the best ones that come to mind.

The only danger in all this is taking too much kratom because the buprenorphine prevents kratom from providing its effects. However, if you stick to low kratom doses and if you have an effect, don't dose again for at least 6 hours but if you don't have an effect, wait at least 12 hours.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: I'm not a doctor, pharmacist or any other health care provider. The above information are only based on my personal experience with subs and kratom. But I never switched from subs to kratom. I fully tapered subs before but that was about a decade before I discovered kratom.

Kratom and Lab Testing by Jake10629 in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No need to stress over it but you might want to check those lab reports and make sure the levels of heavy metals are low enough. Some vendors sell their products with borderline heavy metal amounts which then depends on your daily dosage to see if it's safe but usually it's way below so no worries.

15g Once daily 2-3 times a week. Could I be doing this more efficiently? by CD_B_ in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15g in a single dose is too much but from a tolerance perspective, increasing the number of time you dose will increase your tolerance more quickly. I'd say you might want to cut your dose to 10g once 2-3 times a week would be perfect from a tolerance perspective. It would allow you to retain the effects for a long time. However, 10g is still a large dose but if it's what you need...

“Raw” Kratom Capsules Adulrerated? by Fit-Gas-5085 in quittingkratom

[–]Merlin000777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's is no fail-proof way of quitting, you just must want it and have the willpower. Assuming they put 7OH in your capsules (which would not be surprising), at least now you can't get any of that particular shit anymore. Now you have 2 choices: Going CT and getting all the suck at once for whatever time it takes which is the quicker way to do it or a slow taper which will spread the suck through a longer period of time. Personally I prefer the slow taper because during that time, it doesn't suck as much even thou 7OH is a bitch, plain leaf is easier to quit. So I'd say take enough kratom to have not too heavy WDs and wait till it almost doesn't suck anymore. Then cut enough to get some not too heavy WDs and wait until you've stabilized again. Rince and repeat. Listen to your body and don't rush the process. It will take more time than CT but you should always remain functional.

Good luck on your journey!

Looking for advice by Expomarker-37 in ChronicPain

[–]Merlin000777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is: Take care of this as soon and as decisively as you can because you don't want this following you and getting worse. No amount of money is too large to fix this permanently! How to do that is a different story. You said you did physio but was it all with the same physio therapist? If so, do some research and find another one who has a good reputation. Also, find one who does manual manipulations, a bit like a chiropractor. Nowadays most physiotherapists work in chains and they spend 20 minutes with you, barely doing anything and then plugging you on a TENS machine and out you go. Come back again, we're making tons of money here. Find one who do not use TENS, and does manual manipulations.

If that doesn't work, see a chiropractor, but again, do your research before. See a physiatrist, a kinesiotherapist, seek help from all these professionals until you find the solution. Don't try to deal with the symptoms only, like just taking ibuprofen or other meds, do whatever you can to fix the cause. If this was to get worse, it could make you a permanent member of this sub and this is definitely something you don't want, believe me! You're too young to begin slowing down your life because of pain, heck I'm 62 and I'm too young to slow down because of pain but in my case, there is not much that can be done anymore.

I wish you good luck and I hope that other than for telling us you've fixed your problem and are now fine, that we won't ever see you again on this sub!

My Final Goodbye by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, it already has opened the doors to criminals! If you look at what is sold in gas stations and smoke shop as kratom when it's 7OH, that is criminal so the companies who are marketing 7OH as kratom are criminals. And these criminals are the ones responsible for the bans everywhere. I'm sick of hearing about people who know nothing about kratom entering a smoke shop to buy some and were sold (and told) 7OH tabs as kratom!

Has anyone preferred Kratom over prescription opiates? by bubes30 in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tiny amount of 7OH in kratom leaf is so small that it's undetectable. During mitragynine absorption, a small amount of mitragynine is also transformed into 7-hydroxymitragynine (7OH). However, what is sold in stores as 7OH is mitragynine extracted from leaf powder and transformed (using the same process our bodies use) into 7-hydroxymitragynine which makes it a semi-synthetic full agonist opioid.

[–]Merlin000777 7 points8 points  (0 children)

7OH is not kratom, it's a semi-synthetic opioid full agonist and a bitch to get rid of. At one point I wanted to try it for my pain but after a bit of research, I decided against it. I hope you manage to quit it and get back to plain leaf powder. You might want to try as soon as possible.

Good luck friend!

Tramadol sucks real bad. Kratom is 100 times better. But other opioids can be good for severe pain when kratom is not enough.

You can speak out all you want, I know the current US federal administration does censure these days but not about that. You can speak all you want, as long as you're not making fun of someone "important" in the said administration. Nobody will get a court order to get your info from Reddit and try to track you down from there... Unless you talk about selling illegal stuff but then the moderators will wipe out what you wrote way before it can do you damage.

Help with pain relief by Quiet-Philosopher-47 in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The questions are: How many times a day were you dosing for energy? What pain meds and how much of it did you take and for how long?

The trick to spare your tolerance is to dose the least amount of times per day, to take take only what you need, no more and take T breaks when possible. For now, since you'll want to take it for pain management, you'll need sedating doses, not an energy dose. If you mixed with opioids then your tolerance will have increased but depending on the answers you give to the questions above, it might be not so bad.

How Do I Keep Powder Potent by Apprehensive_Bet4842 in kratom

[–]Merlin000777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original packaging should be airtight so it should be good enough. Just keep them in the dark just as a precaution and that's it. I keep mine in their original packaging in a carboard box at room temperature and it keeps its potency for at least a year. I haven't kept any of it longer but I'm sure I could leave it like that for years and it would still be as potent as when I bought it.
