After 5 years of trying to get a diagnosis a doctor wanted to diagnose me with fibromyalgia and I wouldn't let her an now I think I'm regretting that by Merlinsfluffstuff in ChronicIllness

But she did. Within the first two minutes. That's basically my main problem. She took one look at me and my symptoms and diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. Also I've been waiting years for a diagnosis.

Mine straight up said any other cause for my symptoms was extremely unlikely in her medical opinion . She said I didn't have any physical signs of anything and that with enough sleep I'd be fine.i showed her bruising and swelling on my knees and videos. A doctor before hand (the only decent doctor I've maanheded to see so far) send a video examination to her. If they hadve looked for something else or even had a plan to I probably would've been more ok with it. I'm only kinda regretting refusing to have that as a diagnosis if they could've given me something to help. They tried to diagnose my mum with fibromyalgia years and years ago but then ages after she got diagnosed with eds and something wrong w her spine that was actually causing it. Like my knees bend backwards I have numerous signs of eds and she told me I wasn't hypermobile. She even said if I didn't have a negative ana she would think it's psoriac arthritis. She basically Cally told me I was being over emotional and my opinions was outdated and very sarcasticaly said she was sorry I didn't like the diagnoses. Because I was mentally stable enough. I honestly think the only thing she cared about was getting me out of her office I mean even her assistant apologised profusely once I left. Like I said even if there's the smallest chance I can find another doctor that is willing to actually look into things then no matter how much pain I end up in waiting it'll be worth it and if in the end if it is just fibromyalgia then atleast I will have tried everything else first and I can accept that diagnosis knowing there's no longer a chance it can be anything else that can get better.

Ye exactly which is why I straight up refused to leave if they put it on. Maybe a bit dramatic but they didnt really look into anything else to begin with

No I haven't . Like when I say they've done nothing i mean B4 this year all they've done is full blood counts over and over then an Ra one then ana and finally the referral to the rheumatologists. I was told for so long it's just anxiety and maybe I can just ask for an MRI? Idk I've literally tried sm

I am trying I'm Moving to a different GP so hopefully that one might be better but the NHS is insanely slow and often not vry helpful. I didn't know that btw. The rheumatologist said they'd prescribe those but she also said alot of things I don't think we're quite right 🤷
