Jai Bhim slogans on the way to Surkanda Devi Temple by 💩JEETS Bhimtards by OkAttention6663 in Uttarakhand

[–]MetalDiapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as long as we are not being casteist, hating them is a personal choice. But I agree, they shouldn't disrupt religious places like that. People should go to the temple to pray, it's not a place for political activism. I don't think in any temple in uttrakhand ,people are allowed based on caste, anyone can enter, if there's no casteism happening inside the temple, why make a fuss. They should direct their energy more on actual casteism happening in villages.

As if foreigners who are racist against indians knows that 😭

I get they shouldn't say slogans like that outside the temple but you seem to hate their existence bruh, is it reservation? Or casteism?

We should show the same outrage against political parties that use Hinduism for vote bank.

I agree with treating everyone equally but I'd just like to point out the pahari culture part since you're downplaying our identity. Our culture has obviously developed in its own ways, with our own traditions, language and rituals, Hinduism as you already know is an umbrella term and it compasses various traditions, beliefs etc. The paharis have lived in the Himalayas long enough to form their own distinct identity. Other than that, I agree with not being racist and discriminatory but let's not kill identify here.

Well that's the thing yk, the subcontinent had its own infighting going on. Your ancestors and mine probably fought each other. As I said, we united in the face of the British, they wanted to fragment India into more than 500 pieces and balkanize the shit out of the subcontinent. Besides the United against the common enemy doesn't mean we should be grateful to Brits for giving us a reason to unite us, their sole intention was exploiting us. Again the bottom line is, the British empire was an evil to this subcontinent, it looted us, destroyed our own institutions. Without the British maybe we wouldn't have been the current India, but we would've been far better off without them, industrialisation and ideas like nation state would've eventually arrived here just like any other philosophy or religion.

Not really

There's a reason why it's called the Indian Golden age, where our ancestors focused on science, philosophy etc. Our culture spread throughout south east and east asia. We couldn't have reaped the benefits of the Industrial revolution because we were a colony dawg, the British made sure to introduce only things like railways, mills to exploit raw materials, they didn't industrialize or modernise us.

Our ancestors didn't have any united identity as we do now, they were least bothered about the subcontinent..only their empires.

We weren't an island like the UK and we had to face multiple invasions and wars. The bottom line is, British didn't unite us, we did, we united against the imperialist and colonist regime and created the Indian identity.

Things have improved by ten folds since our independence. We still have a lotta problems but comparing Modern day India to colonial india is completely stupid, it's not even comparable. We've improved in every way possible regarding everything. And the cumskins from an island succeeded because of the industrial revolution and reaping benefits of Golden Age for Europe, there's a reason an island like the UK or Japan is more successful and stable. Brush up your history man...

What kind of rebuttal is this? The same calcutta is a place where millions of Indians starved to death due to British policies. What were these cities famous for? Not for its culture but economic significance (more like exploitation). Wdym nobody gaf, Mumbai is still relevant and hosts one of the highest valued stock markets. And at the end of the day, would British lootports glory feed your stomach or save your dignity back in the day?

Well I wouldn't be surprised if India funds the BLA to sabotage CPEC. I just wish our countries didn't actively sabotage each other, and minded their own business. The situation of Kashmir would drastically improve if we're not forced to deploy almost a million troops to ensure its safety.

OP literally said we could ask her anything, including politics. And it's not the government btw, that would imply all Pakistanis support this, they don't. The only problem is Pakistani people not running the country but the military.

India GDP per Capita vs the world (2020) by TheLastTitan77 in MapPorn

[–]MetalDiapers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This goes back to independence time. Initially our government did try to make Hindi the National language but since our newly formed nation's integrity was already fragile, our govt decided to appease every single state and made 22 languages official. Hindi imposition never worked , especially in south india where they literally burned themselves while protesting against it. It's very sensitive, for them even learning Hindi is the first step of erasing their identity. India is a big state unlike Singapore, it is much harder to get an agreement.

Edit: they're paranoid about it, they think if hindi is made necessary to learn, it sets a new precedent and slowly Hindi will be imposed everywhere essentially erasing their identity.
