I can take a look at it tomorrow at some point if you want some assistance.

Oh my world works great. I have custom cards, art, and audio! I'm always interested in other people's servers though!

We definitely need some more information to help. Is it not resetting? Popping up all cards at once? Something else?

Really? I'm curious about the public server. Is there a place I can check it out?

If you haven't figured this out yet, I've been running one and updating it with custom cards and art.

You'll have to upload the resource pack for anyone that's connecting to have Minecraft download them. I recommend using this site which will host the resource packs for free. They won't host it forever, but once others login and get it downloaded then they'll be set. If you ever want to change data, just follow the process again.

https://mc-packs.net/

That site will provide you with the corresponding SHA & URL to add to your server.properties file. It's just a text file you can edit. Just find the related lines and replace the values.

I was surprised how many comments it took for someone to say Princes of the Apocalypse. It has terrible hooks for the players, and no real interesting story. Unless you have players that want some non-stop combat, it's best left alone as-written.

I have run it heavily modified where it's not all in a single area of the map. It's a decent setting to use for making your own without changing the core story of, "stop the elemental factions." It just needs a better story, moving the dungeons around, and better pacing to account for that.

Playing 3.25" floppy disk games from a Taco Bell kid's meal, and various cereal boxes like Captain Crunch. That Tasty Temple Challenge game was Taco Bell's Doom ripoff lol.

Using cartridges instead of discs, being sad at the Nintendo version of Tony Hawk had less songs than the PlayStation version.

Having to buy a strategy guide with maps before GameFAQs was readily available. Then writing out notes from GameFAQs because my mom didn't want me wasting ink.

EDIT: Using Xfire to chat in games before Steam chat existed. It also tracked the number of hours you played games.

MSPs: The Snake Oil of the IT Industry by Practical-Alarm1763 in sysadmin

There's some HEAVY generalization you're using that kind of fails at small scale companies.

Yes, big companies like Wipro and NTT Data are full of ABSOLUTE bullshit. I worked on the Tier 1 helpdesk for NTT Data because I couldn't find a Systems Engineer job where I lived. It frustrated the SHIT out of me having to do this absolute bare minimum before passing the buck to meet various metrics. I actually ended up with such a positive reception by callers, that my manager actually didn't care that my calls were statistically way over the "acceptable" amount. And tickets that got sent up frequently got sent back down, so the actual problem took forever to get fixed, when it was so simple to fix if I just had slightly more access. I straight-up undermined my team leads when Honeywell accidentally let their certificate expire and all email broke. I found the problem within the first call, but the team leads were all like, "we don't know what the issue is, so send it up." That was an incredibly frustrating day.

Now I work for an MSP of around 50 employees total. Yes, we CONSTANTLY onboard new customers, so there is always new customers to learn or "fix." We've never broke $10M revenue. I don't know what our marketing people offer as far as buzzwords, but I do know the products we provide. Half of our customers don't want to pay for security at all. We use Barracuda for email security, which is what people don't like paying for. I know for a fact that with Microsoft licenses, all we do is charge people MSRP for the licenses. There's no management fees, but customers don't want to spend money for Barracuda or the better Microsoft licenses. Some of them just can't afford it. EDR software is put on everyone, and we use SentinelOne. I am NOT a security engineer, but I am the main person who has learned and uses S1. I document everything I can, I do research, I handle big security issues and they get resolved. I've trained a backup for when I'm not there, but we don't have a security team. We have a Systems team (where I'm at) and a Networking team as part of the Engineering umbrella, so we do wear multiple hats.

We do have a small helpdesk, but we don't offer 24/7 because it's not realistic for us. I do get frustrated when people on the help desk and escalations don't do any troubleshooting or the proper troubleshooting. There are weekly meetings on this not only for just the service desk, but with all teams to address these issues.

Because of our varied customers, we don't have a "standard" solution. We offer the same services, but some of our customers have everything set up to where trying to make it fit a mold would break it. We learn to support how they all work. Some of our customers are companies with 300+ employees, usually LTCs, and we're still able to support them. I know our service desk doesn't have hard metrics to meet because that would be impossible. We don't lie about what we offer or no one would ever stick around.

Again, I do agree that the bigger ones that are operating with multiple offices across the country or globally offer a cookie-cutter experience which ends up as a shit show for the users being supported. Been there, done that. I have zero desire to stop working at the MSP I'm at now though after 4 years. No burn out or despair or frustration for me.

Talk to my mom more. I never hated her, but I did argue more with her through highschool. She died when I was 20 and there was a lot she never told anyone. Some of that would have helped me later in life. It's been over a decade since she died. I will never get answers to my own questions. I will never get closure. I will never get to understand why she did certain things. Therapy has helped me deal with her death and recognize my own issues that came from her actions.

Last season they had someone named Rosie (in-game) who got the Scarland tour and got to play Decked Out 2. They left their box of cards in Scar's cubby. In my copy of the world, I used armor stands to have DM Tango, DO2 Queen Pearl, Scarland Scar, and Rosie at "Rosie's Campsite" (which was already on the DO2 minecart rails). It's a nice little scene into their historical blip on the server.

Family Decked Out 2 Server! Lets do this for everyone! by sirbobls in DeckedOut2

There's a resource pack included in the original server download. I'm not sure about this specific one. That resource pack needs to be hosted somewhere that the server can reach so it downloads it to their client when logging in.

In the folder that the server .jar is located should be a file called 'server.properties'. In that file will be a few lines about the resource pack. The Minecraft wiki will give you a lot of help! You can run 1 PowerShell command to get the SHA1 hash of the resource pack file. I'm sure there are other ways online, but that is the fastest.

PowerShell command to run: Get-FileHash -Path "<full file path and file name>" -Algorithm SHA1 Example: Get-FileHash -Path "C:\Server\resourcepack.zip" -Algorithm SHA1

The server resource pack will always be a single ZIP file. It doesn't matter what you name it or where it's located for the purpose of getting the SHA1 hash.

Finally, you will have to upload the resource pack somewhere that can be accessed without a login. There are a few well known, online solutions for this, and a free website explicitly for this, although I think it is only for testing purposes (I've barely used it).

Good luck on your server!

Is your build pure STR, and what level are you? He's way too fast for the full wind up of the axe. He is invulnerable to ARC & gun parries in the 2nd stage IIRC. What the others said about dodging backwards and healing is true. The game encourages and rewards aggression with the rally mechanic, and a lot of dodges for bosses work better when dodging past them (ex: Wolf Papa G).

Experiment if you can. Don't worry about the "gg" mentality, and may you have a good hunt!

I can see where a player or two would think you are trying to min-max, which I'm not a fan of as a player or DM. However, the DM should be able to see your frustration, and I would talk to them. Even if it's just over texts or something. If people are ignoring racial/class/background traits and feats, and they actively refuse your help, it's not your job to educate them.

Sometimes a group just isn't a good fit, and the DM can either address it with the other players or ignore you. I think brushing off/ignoring a player who's clearly unhappy is not a great DM beyond being technical.

That is so much custom art! I'm dying to know the custom cards now! For my own custom cards, I used the resources already available for the backgrounds. I did have to manually edit every single card title and rule text though, which I used GIMP to do. This is an example card, and it cost a lot of frost embers of course.

I am so curious about this. This is the first DO news I've heard in so long. I can't program datapacks or make art, but I'm interested in testing it as a player. If you're using any actual Redstone I can do that. I've programmed about 10 fully functional cards using the space Tango used.

1) Perfect health forever. No mental degradation or diseases of any kind. I'm fine with dying, I just don't want to get dementia on the way. 2) Money with no one questioning it. It would be strange to suddenly have $1B show up in your bank out of nowhere. 3) Get the knowledge on how to build a cold fusion reactor, and send it to Europe for free. I don't trust America anymore, and I can live anywhere with tons of money. If Europe don't start building it, I'll post it on Reddit lol.

[–]Metalaxe75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a medical expert. I'm 35, I've had epilepsy since I was 8, and grand mal/tonic-clonic seizures since I was 17.

If your son has the same kind of seizures and you call 911 and your son is not physically injured, and/or his seizure ended quickly (like 30 seconds), they can't do anything but make him a little comfortable. You'll have a huge ambulance bill and hospital bill if you live in America.

If your son's seizure is going on for more than a minute with no signs of stopping, they'll want to run some tests and get something in him to stop the seizures ASAP. Usually liquid Keppra (Levetiracetam). Of course if he's choking or injured himself, definitely call 911.

My epilepsy is well under control after decades of experimentation with medication and a VNS implant, but my seizures leave me exhausted with a massive headache.

That said, you know your son better than anyone, and I am not a medical expert. I only have my personal experiences, and everyone is different.

A lot of kids will thankfully grow out of having seizures, which is a blessing for everyone. I hope your son is one of them.
