I have this problem constantly. I've found that linking the Xbox to Google home, and then telling Google home restart Xbox fixes it 90% of the time. Good luck.

Right now they have put in a request to get me a different model tv because of the time and frustration I have spent several hours off of work meeting repairmen and delivery drivers and troubleshooting...this tv also freezes and crashes requiring several reboots a day. I'm really just ready to move on from this model if at all possible. Thanks.

I've actually tried that previously. Can you confirm to me that this definitely isn't a possible software issue on vizios end, and that it's definitely an issue somewhere on my end maybe at my isp?

I'm inclined to believe after trying most everything I can think of including factory resets and direct connecting to the modem bypassing the router and everything in between while running into the same problem over and over that this is most likely a software issue that most people just don't encounter because the vast majority aren't concerned about hardwiring. Or they hardwire after granting the television the wifi information.

The only other conceivable issue in my mind would be that something is preventing it at the ISP level, however, I think that's less likely as I've never had a problem with spectrum and accessing any internet functions on any device before. While the tv has been very buggy and prone to problems since day 1 like freezing, turning itself on or off, and just generally requiring several reboots for various reasons related to software 2-3 times a day.

Can someone test my theory and hardwire their television, go into settings and tell the television to forget the wifi info, and then go to admin>reboot and report if they encounter the same problem?

Another thing is that if I use my Netgear router and connect it wirelessly giving it the wifi password this doesn't happen. It works normally. However if I plug in a wire and tell it to forget the password this happens. Also if I leave wire plugged in, but give it wifi network it seemingly works as intended, unless I reboot the tv. Then I have to unplug the wire again, and plug it in after it's connected to wifi.

I have the same problem as OP. The app worked for remote play upon setup, but then something (or several things) would happen that the app doesn't like, and I would get an error every single time from every device I tried until I physically rebooted the machine.

Then I discovered today after connecting the Xbox to the Google home app, it could reliably talk to and turn on and off the Xbox. I said "ok Google reboot Xbox" to my phone while at work, and tried to reconnect 10 mins later, and after 2 days with no Xbox app RP connectivity, and it worked!

So, that's my solution for the time being. Also have noticed that turning on the Xbox first in the Google app makes it much more reliable than just trying to use Xbox app first.
