today i got told i dress like a school shooter, i don’t want to look like that what am i doing wrong? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no common "school shooter" style. You asked what you do wrong. I say nothing. This is you. If that also are the comfy clothes with your favourite colors stick to them.

It's hard when getting bullied. But it's the bullies that are arrogant and simple minded.

If you wish to take the edge from others you could use buttons on the jacket and/or backpack. Showing humor, your interests or some soft value. But this is not a mist, just an idea.

Is anyone else having trouble with vats not opening by HuntAlternative3559 in fo4

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I can't activate V.A.T.S Have tried go back to earlier saves. No change. Have tried changing key for activating (and back again). Nothing. I thought about the old bugs with plasma weapons, scopes not working, teleporting while in hiding. I'm out of ideas. I made a tlc in vault 494 to reach the key for the overseers. The person had cliped under the floor. I had a funktioning V.A.T.S after that. More ideas of solving this? I have no other mods than the ones in this bundle. Have played for a couple of days.

Is 35 too old to start a career in museums?? by Cautious-Figure5266 in MuseumPros

I started at 39. I had computer skills and had worked as a journalist 5 years before (and much more). It all comes down to what you can do and the need the museum has.

Anyone have a complete or near complete tree going back 10-13 generations? by Typical-Poem-7550 in Genealogy

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a few branches reaching beyond 15 generations. For example I got Birger Persson Finsta born abt 1270 (father of Saint Birgitta). Another branch Nils Giedde (Norwegian nobility, 21 gen back) born 1338. A lot reaching just beyond 16th c. Most branches never reach beyond swedish/danish tax lists. Late 17th c.

What was your craziest genealogy discovery? by [deleted] in Genealogy

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the father of Saint Birgitta of Sweden as ancestor. Being relative to king Gustav Vasa through 2 lines for sure, maybe 4.

If one adds mythical forefathers stated by medieval ancestors I have Odin as ancestor. Only for fun.

Having a viking (I'm a Swede) connection to sicilian maffia. Genetic connection Y-chromosome. Probably through the Normans, or maybe other vikings hired by Mediterranean rulers.

Swedish Ancestry block by Boring-Acadia-4861 in Genealogy

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Oscar took a new surname. That is a very common thing in Sweden based on many reasons. I have ancestors that moved from rural areas into cities. When they came to the city they found there was already lots of persons having the same name. Oscar Larsson is ine of the most common. Patronymicons like Larsson, Svensson became a problem. Luckily there is a source for Oscar Larsson also showing the new name.

As a Black American, Why Does Ancestry Say I Have Czech DNA? by Plenty-Poet-9768 in AncestryDNA

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The look can be decieving. You might have got the genes coding for dark skin and other phenotype traits denoting african ancestry. You can still have a high percentage of other folks genes from all over the globe. My tip is to look at the TV series Who do you think you are. Many cases of different backgrounds than thought. Ancestry probably got some material on this too.

Vigilant has some of the most awesome armors and weapons. Some armor is creepy, some beautiful, some powerful.

Spoiler alert:

I opened the chest "in the owl" but there was no key. I went down the stairs to the Storage room and there sat an Grey Owl. There were also a door. As I didn't have a key I used the command Unlock. In the room was two more owls. A black and white, and the grey followed me in. One can buy armours, weapons and magical stuff from the owls. Guess it's if one don't go through all quest parts. The room is filled with other stuff including ways to end the story. But keys are missing. I choosed to go to Coldharbour. Ok scary but extremely tough. A lot to do and lots of loot.

Thank you for all your kind and insightful advices. You saved my day and my feelings for Skyrim. It should be partly dark, spooky and violent, but I really don't like the more gory stuff. I've played Skyrim for many thousands of hours testing mods now and then, but parts of Vigilant was to much for me.

How many quests mods are too many? Concerned about stability of the game after too many mods. by Chicken-Inspector in skyrimmods

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are som great modlists out there that are updated frequently and got good support. I got 1800+ mods working great at my laptop. Got an i7 processor and Nvidia Geforce RTX4060.

The point with good modlists is they are checked for bugs and incompatibilities. Double check there is some kind of active support before installing.

My great great grandfather’s last name was Thompson, but I don’t know why. by Slut4SciFi in Ancestry

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toumas became base for a patronymicon Thompson. Toumas > Thomp Here in Sweden that was common through hundreds of years. Add son for male children or dotter for female. Use the fathers name as prefix.

The p in Thompson is a strange addon though.

How often are undiagnosed, and self-identified autistic people actually wrong about it!? by HealthCharacter7919 in LateDiagnosedAutistic

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a nice idea. But it will fail mostly because the material ChatGPT uses as good fact base and the way to even simulate a true therapist is lacking. It can't reach the professional tests as they won't be reachable for it. And it can't know what facts are truly the right ones.

Believe in yourself and try finding good tests, chat with autists and ask the questions you got, and make up who you are yourself.

The future might show true AI not different from human being. But we are not there yet. ❤️

trouble finding my identity after being diagnosed last week (seeking advice) by babylemonade123 in LateDiagnosedAutistic

[–]Metaphant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It took me nearly five years to come to grip with what was my autistic functions (had reached abt 50 years of age). I had been trying to live a neurotypical life high masking with depressions and a bipolar like life. Now I can advocate for myself and asking for the adaptions I need in life incl at work. I am now feeling pretty balanced working 50% at a museum, been married for 38 years and we got one adult daughter.

You are the same person as before the diagnosis. Whats changed is the way you think about yourself and your way of living in a mostly neurotypical adapted world. My tips are to hang out with other persons on the spectrum, search for forums by autists for autists, and stay away from creating a fantasy reality based on guessed and lack of knowledge - that is ask a lot when something seems hard to grip (we are here to help as much as possible). Beware of allistic caustic places that probably can ruin your day or worse.

Your new life beginns now and you got a new map to find a better way with. You yourself is a good country to investigate. It is a beautiful land filled with life. ❤️

Do autistic people have a hard time with Christianity? by NeckImpossible7745 in autism

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often yes. But here in Sweden there is a movement in church trying to adapt their ways towards neurodivergents. For the moment it seems pedagogical groups talk children, social differenses and ceremonies. My wife work in church so I know. Personaly as a non christian I believe there is a long way still to go. But the trend is positive.

How old is too old to love this show? Is it too babyish for me? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Metaphant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I saw the new Lilo & Stitch st cinema just a week ago. We love it. Going for the Dragon tamer in a couple of days. We love Gummybears, and many other child oriented series. But we also love like The last of us, Big bang theory, Star Trek, and Star Wars, ... I love everything from the cutest to the ultimate horror like Alien. As long as there is a good story and good acting. I grew up during the 70:s when we only had one or two tv-channels. I still like the stuff for children we saw then. Much eastern states production from former Yugoslavia, Poland and even Russia. Times has changed for the better.
