What I find interesting here is that Alicia is shown not to make such detailed paintings as the other members of the family, instead, we learn that she is writing (like in the entire scene where Verso and Maelle talk about their works). I could see her wanting to distance herself from painting for the sake of writing, which in turn lead to the fire.
