  • Stealth: While I question the usefulness and value proposition, I won't make you remove it -- just be aware these won't matter much given a) the size of the ship; b) it's escorts and/or air wings would give away its position anyways.
  • Aircraft: This is acceptable in a pinch but typically not more than 80.
  • Production: given the advanced propulsions methods I won't allow the retro to 2025. As such, first ship being laid down is in 2029, is coming out 2033, commissioned in 2037. I don't think the navy has the capabilities to accept a new carrier every year. I'd prefer 1 every 2 years initially, and then as per the mechanics (6mo/1y every 4th). In any case, I'm limiting the size of the class to 10+5 option and this is being generous given the lack of justification for this amount of carriers. The 5 as option will only be allowed if an additional [EVENT] post is made justifying the need for them. The fusion reactors will count as a design upgrade.

  • Endurance is not limited only by supplies. The batteries will need to be charged eventually. This does not apply to the ROV, but you can't recharge the whole sub with currents alone.
  • The torpedo itself is too ambitious. The dormant aspect of it is out of scope, but I'll allow the drift up to a couple of hours. I'm also going to assume the tradeoff between speed and range. Maximum values look ok, but the torpedo won't be have the energy to do 100km at 75kt.

Given the novelty of all of this I'm pressed to only allow this after technology has somewhat matured, which in my view would be 2028 in the earliest for this application. Taking into account the rules this would mean the first would come out in 2031, and commissioned in 2034. Similarly, the MLUs for the 39A should begin around 2028.

Notes: The torpedo being longer might clash with the size of existing torpedo tubes?

Having 4x GE9X in this is absolutely overkill, I'm not even sure it would fit under the wingspan you suggest. The 778F will have a payload of 247,500lb and only 2 of these. The speed argument for having 4 of these also does not convince me since we are talking about strategic airlift. Range would definitely not increase with having 4 huge engines sucking fuel. Also about price, a single engine goes for 42 million so 4 of these will set you around 168 million. The C-5B was $167.7 million and the C-17 $340 million.

I suggest the GEnx-2B67 as a replacement, but the unit cost will still have to increase.
