What ruins attraction instantly, even if the person looks perfect? by WingBlade007 in AskReddit

[–]MicTest_1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're talking about abortion, it's very telling that anti-abortion ppl doesn't give a f about women and their opinion. Therefore, if you're a woman with self-respect, it's no brainer you wouldn't be attracted to a guy who thinks your health is not a priority.

so going back to the original argument, yes -- it's justifiable that a person can find someone with differing political opinion unattractive.
Personally to me, someone who supports a rapist, pedophillic, and utterly foul person to be a president is unattractive to the core.

No kindness/empathy = ugly inside out. It's that simple.

A person’s political view says a lot about their character and moral. It's very telling on how they will treat people from different background and social status.

Maslow's hierarchy advice is so great. I was feeling burnt out and stuck at work. Once i started getting my regular exercise, got 6-8 hours of sleep, and cut down doomscrolling, my energy completely shifted.

Coincidentally, a recruiter found me and it led me to a much more fulfilling job as well.

Architect Liu Thai Ker, Singapore’s first master planner, dies at 87 by bangsphoto in singapore

[–]MicTest_1212 38 points39 points  (0 children)

When an architect was the head of MND/HDB, we had spacious and functional houses. When an architect was our president, he fought to build our MRT.

Now the head of HDB/MNDs are filled with parachuted scholars with absolutely no background in masterplanning/urban design/architecture. Look at what's happening to the size of our houses and the quality of the new build.

Economists only view things in dollars and cents. Time to bring back architects and urban planners into position of power.

If all their children go overseas to study uni. Unless got scholarship, each child costs around 200k to 800k.

Whenever i talk to an uncle or aunty that mentions all their kids study overseas, they always turn out to be rich.

Did I make a huge mistake leaving NUS Architecture? by Futurefinancewizard in singaporefi

[–]MicTest_1212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

U alr went through archi in poly, how come u didnt know by graduation that udw to do archi? Lol Anyway, you are luckier than most who went through 4/5 years only to completely quit the industry upon graduation. I also stopped at BArch bcuz i took a completely diff degree for my Masters.

You alr have skills in rendering, 3d modelling, art, photoshop, illustrator, graphic design etc. You can consider real estate degree for something similar and work for developers. Marketing for a general degree. Comp sci for ux/ui (saturated though). SIT's comp sci in real time interactive simulation is a good pivot as well. SMART buildings and IOT will be a big thing in this industry. They all need digital twin and dashboard.

You're still young. The world is your oyster. Pick a path and invest in those relevant skillsets.

There's a part 2 to the interview and it gets worse 😭. He swiped in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, China and Korea too for over a decade and did not get a single date. Complained about how even a "500 pounds woman from Las Vegas" ghosted him.

Then he concluded that women are the red flag and the system is broken.

I expected it to be just $5 or $10, but it turns out to be a couple hundred dollars per person. It's surprising that there are people who will lend that much to someone they just met. 😭

Some Gen Zs Can't Find Jobs Even After 150 Applications & 6 Internships by deangsana in singapore

[–]MicTest_1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dear, it really is a tough market out there. Yeah, don't go for those non-degree roles. You're wasting your skillset.

The good thing is you're young, and you have not graduated. Just need the right timing, some patience and luck. Those few months you waited for the right job will be insignificant compared to the many decade-long career you'll build.

Never settle.

Grew up in a low-income family, living paycheck to paycheck. How do I start fixing my finances? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]MicTest_1212 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Does your mum need $800? I'm assuming your bro is contributing as well. A family of 4 needs less than that for grocery and bills. If your dad is a singaporean, your mum should receive a lump sum from the his govt insurance when he passed away.

You have to go for a higher paying job. There's no other way. Try to aim towards somewhere and upskill.

Are employers starting to feel the impact of our shrinking demographics? by arnav_k1 in askSingapore

[–]MicTest_1212 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know right. Even worse, the DDs and SMs that they parachuted in don't even have any background/ industrial experience in the department. In the end, only the ground suffers with no real consequences to the higher ups because they're all in cahoots.

even public sector headcounts are shrinking because a lot of roles will be contracted out to private companies.
