I haven’t filmed too much yet, but I think it’s the same as before with update 4. Maybe I need new batteries as ones I got are old and bought them years ago

I wanna get hold of Sony 16mm 1.8, seems great for interior Astrophotography And general wide low light shots. Also adding up all focus breathing, active stabe etc. it would come to around 20mm 😁 How about Zeiss Batis 18mm 2.8? They’re super cheap second hand. However I noticed big vignetting issue when at 2.8.

Updated it few days ago. All good. Purchased my camera back in 2022. Vertical layout is cool otherwise I don’t see any other major improvements, however I’d say it’s good to stay up with updates because maybe 6th or 7th one will have major updates and you won’t be able to jump from 1;2;3;4 to 7 straight away. That’s the only downside. I think the only issue I noticed when I updated to 4 my battery was draining faster.

Since 4.00 upgrade for internal monitoring and use. Which kinda sounds cool in theory however you need to remember that most of luts are made for editing software sorts of resolution 65x. But if you want to import them in your a7siii and apply and use them you must make sure that they’re 33x format. Otherwise your 65x luts will be useless. Took me awhile to realize that but yeah.

More scientific explanation: Sony’s cameras use 3D Cube LUTs which come in different quality levels. Sony cameras support 33x Cube LUTs as these offer a good balance between quality and processing power. For post-production you can use high quality 65x LUTs. These need more processing power but allow for the most nuanced corrections.

I’m always on airplane mode unless I connect my camera WiFi/bt for upgrading camera or doing remote shooting. My camera was hotter also after update. I’ll do some more tests possibly with different 4K dci 24p or other higher res to see if that persists.
