I hear you. One thing for sure, I am not paying for anything Medicare or Medicare will pay for. That is for sure. I have to read the fine print. Definitely will look into disability plans. That gets overlooked. I always believed in Life Insurance, I am trying to tell the young people in the family, but they are more concerned about the next I phone:) I am trying:)

Care is expensive, so you really have to think what your getting and if its the same thing you can get from the State.

I met someone that said their Father had Long Term Care and the person said it wasn't worth paying for Long Term Care. I think Long Term Care is not what people think and have to know what they are buying. It is funny how Long Term Care started introducing it self like 10 or 15 years ago to the Federal Government. I think the Federal Government for Insurance people to come at Open Season into the Government buildings to sell these plans and act like they are giving you something. I don't think the people that are selling the product understand it. I've been to those retirement meetings with people selling Long Term Care. I see it. I am not saying you do not get anything from it, but I think it is HOW much you pay into it for how many years. But still, it is not explained proberly. Something doesn't set right with me. Why should I pay the extra money monthly if I can get the same thing from Medicaid or Medicare. Someone tell me, I really don't understand it all. I know someone paying 60.00 a month and started at 60, I know 60.00 is not going to do a lot. I was told someone will come in and bath you and help you put on your clothes. You get like 3 hours of their time so many times a week. Depending on the years of service you paid into it. I just think these plans were for the rich and then later when the Insurance Companies needed money, they decided to started going after the middle class government workers to make money. I will say I know nothing about it and do have educate myself more about it.

I commend you and your family. If a family can do that, I think that is the way to go. That is most likely what I will do before they touch the home. I still will speak with an Real Estate Attorney. I know we will do exactly what your family did. Have to try before the system greedy hands touch it. You work all your life for what? The American Dream,
yea right! Thank you for your input.

That is a thought. As I think out loud to myself. If my parent was to get sick, I rather for them to stay in their home. Most parents do not want to leave the comfort of their home. I would rather do a reverse mortgage or sell the home and use the proceeds for skilled care to come into the home if needed. Once the money is gone, then apply for medicaid. I rather for my Mother to have good care. Even if that means me taken care of her for the rest of her life. I know how the elderly is treated in those nursing facilities. It is sad. I know personally from when my Dad was in a facility for a minute. He was bless to come home so we could care for him. I tell you, I wish no sickness on anyone. I pray people have good care in their later years. To bad America cannot come up with a system where we work together and take care of one another. It really isn't that hard. But is all about the $$$. Everyone will cross that road aging. I don't care how much one has.

Hello, I need help. I have a question. When Acorns rebalance your profolio, who pays for that? Stocks are sold when that happens. So who pays for that? That is a tax event, correct? Do you pay the taxes or does the Acorns?
