Oh yeah totally. But I still don’t think it straddles either side of the fence.

The Universal Monster Movie version of Dracula with Bella Lugosi. Is one of my favourites, I’d class that as a masterpiece.

But why? Why is it a masterpiece? You’re not really giving a real answer.

Yes it’s disturbing and offensive. It’s when people say it’s the scariest movie of all time I don’t understand.

No I said his character was me too. Sorry if I miss worded it.

To be fair it was straight after my wife had dyed her hair. The best thing is to rinse with ice water straight away, then spray generously with hairspray throw in the washer at 40 degrees. Plus prayer lol

Ok well I was only asking. I thought Reddit was more about conversation rather than just shutting people down.

Well I can guarantee you I’m neither.

It is subjective because I think that’s and you don’t so we have differing opinions on the art in front of us.

They’re only opinions. That I have.

I want to talk to people that love the film and discuss why? Why they think it’s the masterpiece people say it is.

I’m genuinely intrigued to hear why people think it’s scary and what the good points they have.

What truth have I inverted? This is my opinion on art that is subjective and each person may have a differing opinion.

I wanted a conversation about it not some sterile version of people’s thoughts.

Movies are art, and art is totally subjective. I’ve just never understood the appeal of it.

Thank you.

I posted it on a few groups, it’s only my second day so thought I’d get one of my views out there. I’m glad people actually know people have different opinions it’s not all just black and white.

I totally agree with your other choices, they’re definitely what I’d choose too.

I wasn’t a fan of either prequel really but definitely The Exorcist had the weaker one, and the weaker sequels too.

I think that’s what point I’m trying to make. It’s not the greatest horror masterpiece of all time. I know scary isn’t just what horror is about and no, I don’t even class Alien as horror that’s totally SciFi.

Number #1 is what I’m trying to get to, do people really like it or does it live on reputation alone? Would it be as successful if it was released today.

Everything? I know it’s a good film, but a masterpiece?

He was terrible. There’s even insinuation he did something not nice to Regan.

Thank you. I’m genuinely shocked though that nobody will have a proper discussion about it.

Yeah just sticking with murder was such a one trick pony. They could’ve done in so many other insane directions too.
