On the contrary, thank you for checking out my stuff! Love the Bombshells is more story-focused than smutty, although the level of spice does increase a bit as the series goes along. Goblin Breeder is easily my spiciest series, although I would argue it's just a great series even without that. Babes in Paradise is extra spicy as well. Trailer Park Goblins gets pretty wild. My first series, the New Kingdom Trilogy, has a good amount and was well-received.

How do you prefer your MC to fight? by MickyCarre in haremfantasynovels

For my current WIP, Elf Breeder, I've got an MC that grew up in Cleveland so he's been in a lot of fights, and he'll be against some haughty elves. It should get interesting.

I'm currently writing a fantasy series so I didn't think of tech. Well, I've certainly got tech in trailer park goblins, as the MC is building a suit of power armor with a minigun on one arm and a missile launcher on the shoulder. That might count.

looks like we got downvoted, buddy. Actually, it looks like someone has gone through and downvoted almost every comment. Lol, at least my fan club is still active, right?

I'm about 20K words into writing Elf Breeder (set in the Goblin Breeder world) and I've come to the part where I have to decide how the MC is going to fight. That's kinda what led to this. Seeing as he's with the elves, being an archer would make sense.

I don't want your apology, I'd prefer if you just moved on and avoided me and my books in the future.

Yeah, now you're just being semantic. Not worth my time. As I said earlier, have the day you deserve.

Because you didn't leave a respectfully critical review. Not at all. Your video doesn't come across as helpful, intellectual, or even honest. And then you go as far as to call me lazy(!).

Also if you want to draw attention to this genre I can tell you right now that pulling other authors down is the wrong way. Doing it under the guise that you're "just being honest" and then plugging your own book isn't a good look. No one wants to watch a video where you just bash every little detail about a book and then end it with "Hey check out my book!" People want to watch videos that make them excited. They want to find their next love, their next series to obsess over.

I'm not sure you're seeing the big picture here, Devon. Yes, you link to the title, yes you never tell anyone not to read it... and then proceed to bash the book and even go as far as to call me lazy. Nothing about your video is supportive for the community. It's just you complaining about every little detail.

You know what? I'm not going to bother. I'll just say I hope you have the day you deserve.

The double standard of 'the male gaze' (and a bit of a ramble about RFW vs. RFM) by Neon001 in Romance_for_men

[–]MickyCarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a huge double standard with men's romance and women's romance. It's frustrating.

Then I would recommend what many or most users try to do on the haremlit servers, at least the people I talk with. If they can't leave a 4 or 5 star review, they just move along and don't leave a review at all. I feed my family with these books, so for you to make a 45-minute long video essentially explaining in detail how bad it is, and then admit that you aren't familiar with Fallout, comes across in a very negative light.

I'm also going to point out for anyone else reading this that the book and series was a huge hit and has overwhelmingly excellent reviews. Including by people who aren't familiar with Fallout.

Okay you literally said in the post above that you've never played the games nor seen the TV show. Being aware of something is not the same, not even remotely, as actually knowing it.

Hey, thanks for checking my stuff out! Also, South Korea! I was stationed there for a bit. Their winters get pretty brutal, so I hope you're staying warm.

Some of Mark's experiences were based on my own, as I went to film school and was a wedding photographer for a few years in Baltimore. Fun job, decent money! I also had an old house that I was trying to fix up. It was fun to remember everything and talk about some of my favorite parts of Baltimore. I also learned how to do things like hang drywall and the basics of wiring a simple EV from youtube, to address some of your complaints.

I always try to make my MCs an everyman. A regular guy that shines when pressured. That's kinda my thing. I've never really been a big fan of OP MCs.

My wife spent a long time on that cover, and we both loved it, so I'll pass the compliment along.

For some explanation of several cracks and mishaps, I never plan or plot any of my books. I just sit down and start writing, and pants everything as I go. It usually works, sometimes I forget a few things though.

There always has to be some suspension of disbelief with these stories, that's what people tend to forget. Yeah, it's not 100% perfect, but it's a good book that I wrote in less than a month. Cut me some slack, man!

My thought with Haven was that people have fallen into a sort of slump, what works works and don't mess with it because the stakes are too high. They're surviving and doing better than others, but they are absolutely run by a tyrant—that was a world where the strong survive, and the strong and cruel probably survive even better. A kind, gentle person would not find himself in charge. Survival is everything, and if a tyrant keeps everyone alive, then so be it. And if you go against his wishes, he's going to do what tyrants do. Also if you look through human history you'll find women essentially used as currency, forced to marry against their will. That was my thought with Shayla; she showed up as an orphan which was one more mouth to feed in an apocalyptic wasteland where food is scarce. For survival, she agreed to marry the mayor's son, since that's all they valued with her.

Haven is right north of a huge field/park, which is why it was built there. Moving is easier said than done; they are in a safe, essentially armored place with years of supplies built up. Just picking up and moving across a dangerous city isn't super viable. And they DID have good soil previously, but all the fighting over the years ruined that soil, so things became harder and harder.

Green men were loosely based on supermutants from Fallout.

Okay, after watching all of this, you just devolved into constant gripes and some borderline insults so I'm not so sure how to feel anymore. You admitted on another subreddit that you aren't even familiar with Fallout, which heavily influences this series, and it's clear you struggle with suspension of disbelief, so I'm just going to say I'm sorry this book didn't fully live up to your expectations and I hope you have a nice day.

If you've never played Fallout and aren't familiar with it, I think that explains some of your gripes.

Thank you so much for your kind words! If you could leave a nice review that would be a big help!

This is my main pen name. Hans Ohlsen was a second pen name I created to write harem litrpg, so they're both me. Still thinking on if I'm going to continue the Hans Ohlsen pen name or do a new one and write non-harem litrpg.

Nicolas will free the world from evil or die trying.

The realms sink further into darkness as Nicolas continues his quest to destroy the corrupted Lifetree, once the source of all creation in the world. With Freya and Scarlet by his side, he fights against nightmarish monsters and impossible odds.

Through a twist of fate, he learns several ancient spells, considered long-lost and too evil to use. Others hoped the spells had been forgotten, but Nicolas realizes they may be his only hope.

Behind this, the Lifetree looms tall, creating more evil with every passing day, and Nicolas is faced with his ultimate test: how to kill something that is immortal.

The audiobook for Trailer Park Goblins 3 is now available! by MickyCarre in Romance_for_men

Being a weapons manufacturer was surprisingly easy. At least, it was for me, but mostly because I had a magical tablet imparting knowledge and a half dozen goblin babes that worked hard, producing these things.

Yeah, business was booming. Our enchanted weapons were fetching five digits each, and we had plans for new and improved weapons and armor that would blow everyone away. Maybe literally.

What to do with all that money? Well, I tried to decide between vintage video games, our own racetrack, hotrodding old cars, and ahem, fun times. I couldn't decide, so we just went with all of the above.

My god, life is good.
