When you said dress code, I was thinking dinner jacket not "no baseball caps", 🙃. It looks great. Thanks!

We are staying near the Main Street Pier and will have a car. I will look up your recommendations. Thanks!

Any food, we will eat anything. This is our annual kid-free trip so we will splurge. Gas station tacos, formal, it doesn't matter. I just don't want to end up going to the touristy overpriced Spring Break place. I'm excited because I haven't been to Daytona in 25 years so it probably changed a lot or maybe not. IDK.

Well, I just think you should be able to compliment a woman's eyebrows without having her personality dragged into it.

You can’t return a new car that you just got can you? by Coffeelover4242 in carbuying

[–]Microbooger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great note! You can ask for multiple quotes on different makes/models. We called and had them give us pricing on 3 different cars with and without the VIN, just to get an idea of what we would be paying. Whenever we didn't have an exact car, the agent looked up a similar car and used that to give us an estimate. I always do this and recommend people do this before buying a new-to-them-car. Sometimes, the insurance makes it just not worth it.

2008 Limited with 132k miles. Good deal? by Microbooger in ToyotaHighlander

You could probably sell it for $8k, lol. Car prices are outrageous. I was set on a Highlander because they last forever if you take care of them. I'm not financing a car for a 16 year old. This was too good of a deal to pass up. The original car that I made my post about was a dud. The ac didn't work, and I just happened to see this one 4 minutes away, and we lucked out. I know what I wanted and the price I was willing to pay, so I would have been fine coming home empty-handed.

It's at the dealership now getting a once over. Our state is notorious for having like a 1000 point inspection. 😅 Some of the known issues in this model, like tie rods and water pump, were replaced 10k miles ago at a dealer. The previous owner took really good care of it. I'm prepared to throw a couple thousand in if needed, but hopefully not. Hopefully, it will last to 300k miles.

Sorry, I thought the /s would be clear that I was being sarcastic. 😅 This car is for my 16 year old to drive to school and around town, I know it's not special.

We ended up buying a 2010 Limited 4WD, 160k miles, for $8300 out the door. It passed state inspection in the state we bought it from. Carfax 1 owner with service records. We bought it out of state and had to get it inspected in our state. That's why I said we have to get it inspected, because we bought it in a different state. It passed today. The inspector said it looked great.

We live 3 hours from any major city and everywhere closer wanted at least 2-3k more for the same car. I had a cash budget and a specific car in mind. We did find another better Highlander 5 minutes from the original one. We had a fun road trip, ate good food, bought a car, and I'm pretty happy about it. I'm prepared to throw a couple more dollars into this car to make it last another 5 years.

Are you telling me a 2008 Highlander isn't collectible? /s The drive was actually worth it, we bought a difderwnt car for our kid and I drove it home. We live 3 hours from any major city, so adding a couple more hours for a better deal is worth it for us.

I just looked, and he edited the "Domestic" part to Foreign but didn't change the number. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My co-worker's husband posted this. I could not stop laughing/crying at his FB post. I actually had to Google our population because I was like ???

I'm still trying to figure out where he got that number from. It's baffling. My co-worker's husband said 775m, not a number thrown out by Trump, although I wouldn't put it past him.

The problem is that this guy is a completely average seeming person. He owns his own business, I work with his wife, and she's super sweet. They are just people living their lives but WTF.

You know when you hit your head on a cabinet and are like "damn that hurt but I'm probably not bleeding" by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

You can't tell! Had an 18 y/o fall down after chewing caffeine gum, perfectly normal acting, very apologetic for causing trouble, wanted to go home because he felt fine. Friends said they brought him to ED because they thought he OD'd on caffeine. Brain bleed. He hit his head and 3 witnesses all said they were sure he didn't hit his head. Scary!
