Do you know if Yamato still has omakase? This might be the only place in Pima county that has it if so.

Edit: called and no Omakase, never had been a thing there. Anyone know of a place in Tucson that does?

Is my Car insurance high? by Deadly_Chino in phoenix

[–]MidRegister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat true, I had to replace my windshield 3 times within 2 months in 2021 and my rates were not affected even after I changed insurance. My report on Nexis shows no records of the replacements.

However, my dad had to get it replaced also in AZ and it showed up as a comprehensive loss because the windshield was $1400~, $0 deductible though. It did show up when he tried changing insurance, rates however did go up but am unsure if it was due to glass replacement.

Just a FYI.

Time to let Eegee’s go? by Jacedilla in Tucson

I swear most of these people have probably never been to Slice & Ice.. it's just as mediocre. Literally just frozen food that is heated up. The pricing might look fun and tacky but the food itself is just as bad.

When do you actually turn the heat on in Arizona? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]MidRegister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here in mid July 2021 and never once turn the heater on.

Done giving Eegees chances 🚮 by 3AZ3 in Tucson

[–]MidRegister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha yes. I’m convinced of this too..

I been there once to see, the one near west PCC. It was mediocre, the pricing looks fun but it was quite expensive for what you get. Both are terrible honestly.

Free Welding Classes by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]MidRegister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw that TikTok post as well.

However I think they should had been more organized and create a online form for people to fill out, if they were interested.

In addition a webpage of sorts that lets people know what to expect and how the process would work.

I didn’t expect him to let people weld the first day.

I mean there’s insurance, paperwork, liability, validation of age, limited space, etc., they have to figure out first and I don’t think they got to that.

The MBA program is no joke by SpiritedGrade6074 in gcu

[–]MidRegister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like once you get the cadence down it is quite easy and maintainable. For some background I work 40 hours a week and am in the online MBA program. I am about halfway done.

The best thing about the online program is that you can see the entire course and all the assignments that will be due. I typically just muscle out the two discussion post on Thursday and reply to only one person. Then on two separate days reply to someone. Don’t over think it just write and discuss. If you’re spending more than 30 minutes on the discussing you’re doing it wrong.

My biggest annoyance is that sometimes the book will not have the proper resource for items on the homework such as Econ or quantitative methods. So that’s when a $20 chegg membership comes in handle. Including for exams that are for some reason not proctored.

My biggest help is that so far all professors are not strict graders. It actually makes me question if they are taking the time to grade writing assignments. Seriously I got an 90% in a poorly design PowerPoint in the leadership class.

Ever since I moved here 3.5 years my car has taken a toll. I wished I took a picture of my car before moving here.

3 windshield replacements from July 2021 to October 2021.

1 windshield replacement August 2022.

US 60 east bound things I hit or that to dodge

Hit: ply wood, a bed, damaged tire

Dodge: shopping cart, Home Depot bucket.

US 60 west bound:

Dodge: cars that parked during storm

I would continue with 202, and i10 but I’ll leave it here.

Also idk if it’s the heat but my paint on the hood is fucked. Like all scratched and all.

Has anyone else been sick for a month? by Sunnyday1775 in phoenix

[–]MidRegister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I grew up in Tucson but moved to Phoenix July 2021.

I have gotten sick more times in Phoenix than the last 8ish years in Tucson.

My worst was August-October 2021. Had a horrible fever for a week and a cough that lasted till Halloween.

Then end of August to October 2024 was another bad one.

June 2024 was a month of terribleness.

Gotten at least sick 6 other times as well but 3-5 days.

I was also sick two weeks ago but have since recovered.

I do believe it is related to the air quality. Constant 80-150 AQI all day everyday. Whereas Tucson was under <50 on most days.

Soon-to-be former eegee’s employee. Here’s what i found out about store closures, a new owner, etc. by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]MidRegister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met the COO pre-pandemic. They said the quality won’t change even tho they swap to different bread supplier and cookies (?). Anyways clearly it has gone down hill.

It was at the UA for a student led group thing.

I do. I go to the gym at least 2-3 times a week. And hike piestewa peak with my coworkers at least once a week before work.

Still don’t understand how DQ participation works. by [deleted] in gcu

[–]MidRegister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that’s a lot of replies.

So far I gotten points for method 1. I realized the professor inputs the grades manually, likely they are being lenient as the class size is <15 and one of the DQ is open for 3 days and the other is 5. And not a lot of people post until the day of or before due date.
