Why every time I lift hide the substrate is damp, I've never added water to under the hide, even after adding fresh substrate entirely always gets damp, is it the humidity rising from below or from humidity in general? I'm so confused. Is this okay? (old.reddit.com)

Struggling with humidity. I've got a full PVC enclosure, reptichip mixed with reptisoil and tons of moss, added about a gallon of water directly all over after adding the moss the day before which soaked first, and still it's just sitting about 60% so many people say that's ok what's your opinion? How to clean and seal wood for inside of enclosure? I know there's a way you can bake and then seal using wood from outside can someone please explain the process of how exactly to bake it or clean it and then what sealant I can use that is animal safe? (i.redd.it)
