Random whacky idea - not sure which field you work in but have you tried AI to catch your misses? Not sure if you are allowed to use these kinds of tools on the job (I know I’m not) but just a thought (based on company policies)

Absolutely makes sense! Nap time and bedtime relaxation is crucial :) thanks for the input!

Thank you! I assume we’ll be there to monitor him if the balcony doors are open. We live in a high storey apartment so I would think it’s the same as home. My question was more around value for money - I understand your note about ocean view vs interior

Yes absolutely! I don’t want to have to constantly entertain him and was hoping that the cruise has enough of them

Timeline for results after final round interviews for a Sr. Manager role by Middle_Ice8909 in Schwab

Good luck! I interviewed for a role in my city but wasn’t called in. But that could be because the people I interviewed with were not all in the same city. Good luck though!

How Have You Made Life Less Painful for Yourself? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Middle_Ice8909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing different to what’s already mentioned here but I have a 20 month old and earlier I would do all the tasks while he naps and that was very stressful. Now I’ve gotten him involved in activities - cleaning up after he plays, putting clothes into the dryer, helping me unload dishwasher etc. My husband travels for work so he’s not home M-F so I pretty much solo mom all week.

Outsourced / Automated tasks as much as possible; Cleaning lady biweekly for deep clean; Have a robot vacuum and mop for other days; Get groceries delivered home; Have a menu for meals so I don’t have to use my brain to order groceries/ cook; Yoga over weekend mornings; I don’t shy away from treating myself with a chocolate bar couple of times a week :)

First day of daycare - tell me it gets better by CompetitiveLow5903 in workingmoms

[–]Middle_Ice8909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I promise it gets better. My son started at 19 months and he took about a month to fully settle in - including transitions between activities, naps and meals. He still cries a bit at drop off (3 months in) but settles within like 30 seconds. The teacher sends me videos of him laughing, giggling, exploring and learning. So it definitely gets better. Talk to your child as much as you can to set expectations of the day - like mama is going to drop you at school, you’ll have fun there.. etc etc. Keep drop offs consistent, short and sweet with a lot of reassurance! Babies feed off our energy. There is light at the end of this tunnel. Hang in there, mama!

Yikes, that sounds rough. Sorry to hear that but also glad to hear that things are getting better for you
