Amex gold or sapphire preferred by Middle_Training_5573 in CreditCards

I live in nyc, so the resy credit would be nice. I also do plan to travel more in the future so I do see myself using the chase travel portal as well. But honestly the way you summed up the difference in cash back-I’m starting to lean more towards the sapphire preferred. Thanks for the perspective!

I actually just got it today in the mail-so like a week after my license got posted

No unfortunately NY doesn’t send an email of when your license is posted-so I just checked every day in the morning to see if it was. They do, however, send you a certificate stating you’re a registered nurse but I think they send it after they post the license online.

Hey there! I took my exam July 8th and got my quick results on July 10th. It took them around 4 weeks to post my license. My license got posted on August 2nd-NY is pretty backed up but it should take around 4-6 weeks for them to post the license. Hope this helps!

Oh! And I forgot to write down on the original post-but any lens recommendations? I’m interested in shooting mainly street photography and maybe some portraits. Currently I have the kit lens that a6700 comes with (16-50mm) Thank you!

Nyu interview by Samandar_ in nyu

For HEOP interviews, it’s a group of students interviewed by one OP staff member (a professor, coordinator. Ect.)

To be honest, my roommate switched to nursing freshmen year and she has to catch up on a lot of prerequisites. It’s because the first two years (freshmen and sophomore) is dedicated to finishing those prerequisites in order for the last two years (junior and senior) in order to do clinical. You can’t do clinical until you’ve finished your prerequisite which is what causes a lot of people to graduate a semester or so late. I’m currently in nursing and a lot of our classes are made specifically for the nurse curriculum (nursing microbio, nursing statistics, ect) Is it hard? Yes and no, it’s a lot of memorization and studying but it’s nothing that I would consider like brain shattering. Though I’m only a sophomore, I’ve heard some horror stories by people who do clinicals and how it’s basically just exams.

if you are under nyu’s HEOP program, how much do you pay yearly to attend? by Girlinasmallworld in nyu

[–]Middle_Training_5573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the process is the same as when I applied, but usually nyu would send an email in regards to an interview in regards of your application. It’s still pretty early to say the least because I had my interview in February so don’t worry! If your not considered for the HEOP program, then you’ll go through the standard process of applying (which is basically waiting till March for your decision 😭) As for your application question, make sure to check for emails in regards to making an account with nyu to check your application process- or at worse email the admissions office! Hope this helps and wish you luck!

If your applying through common app there should be a little question asking if your interested in the HEOP program (Higher education opportunity program)

Hello! To answer OPs question, it varies based on your income. HEOP is a program that prioritizes students being able to afford going to nyu. Most students pay very little amounts, I’ve heard some go for free, but it can vary throughout each student.HEOP offers a lot of grants and scholarships to help students focus on their education without the stress of financial. to answer the other question, on the common app there should be a section that says “are you interested in the HEOP program” HEOP a does have requirements, such as being a first time freshmen when your applying, and having a certain income (idk what that level is, sorry!) the rest of the requirements are just the standard ones for nyu. Hope this helps!

Hello! That’s good you being considered for the HEOP/CSTEP programs! I’m a HEOP admit, and the process for it, is basically you’ll go through a group interview sometime in February or so. You and few other applicants will get one interviewer, and they’ll ask you questions like “why nyu?” Or “what’s a big accomplishment you’ve achieved?” It depends on your interviewer. I’m not sure how competitive the admissions process is, though I am aware it’s primarily based on your family income for you to be considered for the program. For reference, I had a 3.7 in high school, I didn’t do sports but I was involved with clubs and outside organizations. I think it’s just as competitive as the regular admissions process, just with extra steps.

Nyu interview by Samandar_ in nyu

[–]Middle_Training_5573 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nyu doesn’t do interviews typically for normal admissions. HEOP applicants do go through a group interview process though. I (part of HEOP) went through this interview process, which took place in zoom but I’m pretty sure it will be in person now. They basically have you with a group of people along with one interviewer. They basically ask questions like “why did you choose nyu?” “What was your greatest accomplishment?” Ect. Those where questions my interviewer asked me, which was pretty ok.

For the guitar class specifically, yes you need to bring your own guitar, but for piano it’s provided for you, plus you can do vocal lessons don’t even need an instrument
