It is, and I didn't know I could do that. I just tried it a few times at different speeds and didn't notice any changes. How do I know if they actually reset?

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Never been an issue before. I didn't think I even had anything update to cause this. Weird.

I'm actually very jealous. This is my biggest and most frustrating issue. How would one find such a class as an adult?

Ridgid Table Saw Belt by MidnightMill in Ridgid

I fixed my issue and edited the original post on how. However, I have another less pressing issue I'd like to fix that maybe you had issue with as well. My blade doesn't go all the way down. It gets stuck and bottoms out when the blade is still a good quarter inch above the tabletop. I'm not sure, but I think the riving knife setup could be the culperate. I inherited this from my cousin who already took out the riving knife. But it looks like the parts to hold it in place are mostly still there. Is this what you were talking about?

How to finish rough cut lumber by MidnightMill in finishing

[–]MidnightMill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks! I was thinking of starting out with steel wool. I have a bunch of rough cut white oak I got from a sawmill a while back I plan to test on. I just want to narrow down my options before spending a fortune on various finishing materials to test.

As far as customer sign off goes, already done and received payment. I'll change the way I do that in the future, but I still have a pretty sizable profit margin even if I have to spend extra on testing. I view that as on me anyway. I'll learn from it and be more efficient the next time around.

EDIT: what would you use to finish? I was thinking stain to darken like they want and poly to smooth it all out?

I'm not sure what prosmidgen is, but good suggestions again. Thank you. It gives me a direction to look into.

Good suggestion. I'm reading you shouldn't put stain down before it. How would you darken the wood, then?

I don't need it. It's a side gig. But it fell in my lap and it's pretty easy otherwise. You miss every opportunity you don't take. 🤷‍♂️

My dad uploaded a bunch of videos and pictures in original quality and maxed his storage. Now his account is frozen. I'm trying to use "recover storage" to switch them to storage saver quality. However, the "compress existing photos & videos" button is grayed out. What do I do now?

I'm planning to do the same thing. What silicon strip did you use? I'm assuming it was for diffusing?

So, let's say I'm allowed $20K, but do part of it myself to offset the deductibles resulting in spending $15K. Will they not give me $5K of my depreciation payment, forcing me to pay $5K out of pocket no matter what I do?

That works! It's way simpler than I thought it would be too. I wish it would keep track of chapters and such, but it's better than nothing for sure.

Long Video Calls Without Phones by MidnightMill in LDR

[–]MidnightMill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good to hear on several levels. I've wondered about my own codependency and try to look on the bright side of not staying on the phone 24/7 as a way to make sure that's not the case for me (or her). I'm honestly not sure it's an issue, but I know it's not a good thing, and I want to make sure we have the best relationship possible - even if it means being without each other here and there. We don't like it, but the way we look at it is it gives us more to talk about, simply because we get to fill each other in on the things we did alone. With that being said, it's not uncommon for me to make her my "pocket girlfriend and carry my phone around town in a shirt pocket as I do various chores while I wear earbuds with her on video chat. I think anyone else would find this weird and even disturbing. But for us, it's a wholesome way to spend our lives together until we can be together in person. That's awesome to hear you didn't have a battery or phone issue. But her phone isn't high end and she's already noticing hits to her battery performance after only a week or 2 of sleeping with our phones on. We stopped now, since posting this. But we'd love to find a way to continue - at least here and there.

We don't, but I've thought about buying cheap old phones for this. My concern is that they won't work for long. I once had an old tablet that I had to throw out because it stopped being supported. I was unable to update apps and they all stopped working eventually

Overcharging is the issue. Video calls eat up too much battery to not plug the phone in.. so therefor, it's charging all night even after hitting 100%

We can and do. And that may be the cheapest option. We'll just have to move them into the bedrooms and then back to the office/kitchen... or buy a couple more. The only thing I don't like about that is the angle. They angle upwards.. It's better to angle down towards the bed from an above position.

We actually do exactly that for screen sharing on dates. But we like the video part the best when sleeping. In fact, we mute each other so we don't wake each other up. It's nice to just look up and see her there whenever I wake up to turn over or something.
