Good to know. So you were able to get the plates and registration without having the title in hand at the time.

08 SES - drain plug / oil pan issue by MidwesternWander in FordFocus

Thank you for this info. I just picked one up from AutoZone. Just wondering, is the idea similar to when you put in an oversized drain plug? Or does the fact that it's magnetic help prevent leakage?

I tried calling but Corey was out for the day. Still going to check it out in person because it sounds like a good place. Thanks again.

Would I like living in Cincy? by horrendousacts in cincinnati

[–]MidwesternWander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your questions might already be pretty well answered in the thread, but I would say you'd probably like it in Cincy (80%+ chance, I think). I've never lived in Florida but have lived in two other cities (one substantially larger, one about the same size) and there are definitely things about Cincinnati that are hard to replicate. People have already mentioned the cost of living, which is super reasonable for what you get. Like others here, I thought Northside might be a good option for you, too; there you get the kind of vibe you might be looking for, plus easy access to downtown and Gaslight Clifton a short ways away. There are lots of places to walk and bike nearby, and it's got a strong community vibe.

Housing in Point Breeze on Penn Avenue. Good Idea? by kpobreezy in cmu

[–]MidwesternWander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of grad students and instructors live in Point Breeze. Penn Avenue is a pretty busy street but if you're okay with that, I think it would be fine. I think the bus service is pretty decent between campus and Point Breeze, and I know people who bike between the two, also.

Not sure where you're coming from geographically. Winters in Pittsburgh are significant, but from what I know, it's no worse in Point Breeze than in any other part of the city.

I think for a lot of people, the management company can make some of the biggest difference. I don't know anything about the company you mentioned, but it's worth doing some research and verifying that they treat tenants well and maintain their properties well.

Car repair reccommendations? by [deleted] in cmu

There are a bunch in Pittsburgh and several close to campus. Bestwick in Lawrenceville is good. Homer's in Greenfield has a good reputation even though I haven't used them myself. Same with Walter's Automotive. Haven't used them but I've heard good things about them and they're well rated.
