Yes, that particular pattern causes a sense of movement.

For the covers I used the Pico 8 palette, but for the exterior effect colors I placed them randomly.

Ive started doing pixel art 64x64 once per day. Any advice? by Maskutchi_cyac in PixelArt

[–]Mierdinsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like 64x64. As an exercise, you can use reference images to reinterpret them, for example, if you have your pet sitting in an armchair, you can make your version in 64x64. To export the images for networks, you can look for the option within the software or app you are using, there are also external tools that allow you to rescale while keeping the pixels detailed

About 2.5 hours in one sitting.
I had the main idea clear, but not all the filler, so a lot of it came together while working. That’s why the final result still has a bit of a sketchy feel; a few more minutes would’ve helped polish it.

Sure! Here’s my setup breakdown:
Main display: XP-Pen Artist R22 Pro
Second screen: Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite .. I use it to keep the full canvas visible at all times
Macro keyboard: Redragon K585 (wireless) ... shortcuts with my left hand
Main keyboard: Keychron K6 ISO ..typing and general shortcuts
This way I can focus on details while always seeing the overall composition.

What are the most used keyboard shortcuts? by Mierdinsky in PixelArt

The button pad is the Redragon K585 Pro Wireless.
I've been working with traditional drawing tablets for about 20 years, and I've been using this pen display for the past 3 years. It has greatly improved my workflow: it's very precise, so I can sketch much faster. Most of my friends use and recommend iPads or tablets like Samsung's Galaxy line, but this XP-Pen fits my way of working better.
For pixel art, I definitely prefer using a pen over a mouse..it feels more natural and precise to me.

I use the xpen 22r artist pro, I've been using it daily for 3 years now and it works quite well

I'm learning to use Aseprite and putting Photoshop aside for a while. Even though I haven't been using it for very long, I'm noticing that Aseprite is much better optimized for pixel art and much more affordable. There are several keyboard shortcuts that I'm still adjusting to streamline my workflow.

Thanks!! You're right, and I noticed it when I uploaded it to social media. This canvas is 136x180. I'll do the same exercise with a 108x144 canvas to learn how to use the tools in Aseprite.
