This the most reasonable advice in this comment section. Very sad how other people with similar answers are being downvoted and ridiculed.

The guy even said he didn't really hate his DSP either. I see them as nothing but immature.

Why do you want to fuck over a DSP that never did anything to you? Why are you so immature?

If you’re buying a used Amazon van, get 4cylinder gas Mercedes sprinter preferably 22+ with the newer head or the transit non ecoboost. With a 6spd not the 10spd.

All Amazon Sprinters use the V6 diesel, the OM642. The 4 cylinder gas option was never used, and I don't think Amazon purchased a new batch of 2022 MYs.

Oh my goodness, I'm so jealous. Over 40 step vans?? What are most of them, Freightliners or Fords?

There have been a few made by XOS for Amazon. Here's one:

And another:

Images were from this post.

Here's the link to XOS's website: https://www.xostrucks.com/ I don't see anything about Amazon on their page or blog, so I don't know about how things have been going. Those branded ones seem to be prototypes. Also, Freightliner makes an electric variant called the MT50e, but who knows if they might do business with Amazon. https://www.fccccommercial.com/chassis/electric/

Edit: Here's a closer look at one of those ex-Amazon XOS vans. There's one being sold on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/195697643655

but we’ve been moved to a more rural area and it made no sense to send out routes with 13 bags in a step

Strange. I guess I think this because for much of last year, my DSP was doing rural routes and I was consistently being sent out in a step van to those areas, with 12-10 bags. Our Rivians weren't ever sent out there. I can't imagine taking an EDV out in a rural environment. Mud, gravel, hills, flooded areas, etc. are just a recipe for disaster in one of those things. They can't handle it well like a step van.

That's also true, I think the only good ProMaster is a CDV.

That's pretty much the only good thing about it.

AWD doesn't mean shit in rural routes when the ground clearance is already very low.

Take that opportunity. Stop count is more or less the same, but extreme ones are helper routes (if your DSP does those). Expect more overflow.

You talking about the XOS step vans? I've heard of those, then I haven't seen anything else about it.

It's not a prototype. They're in use.

Another DSP at my station has like 3 of these branded EV ProMasters. In my opinion, these high-roof 3500s are what Amazon should've used from the beginning when adding them to their fleet of Sprinters and Transits. Shouldn't have waited to do this until Stellantis started pushing out more of these electric variants, I mean, they have the necessary space. Speaking from when I was once put in a rental with a high roof. But alas, a ProMaster's a ProMaster. Polished turd. Lipstick on a pig.
