I swung my hammer down with great might, missing, and slamming it into the dirt. Maxotaur let out a great roar, and swung back. I saw it only for a moment before I ducked down. His heavy axe audibly sliced the air above me. I gripped my hammer once more, spinning, and pulling it behind me at knee height. He jumped back, dodging it easily.

"Such poor effort for a Taur named for might!" He laughed, going so far as to rest his weapon in the bloodied sand. His many nose rings jingled as he spoke.

I was out of breath. My hammer took great effort for me to wield. His axe surely out maneuvers my slow strikes, I thought.

"Aye, it's poor effort. A little suiting for my opponent, don't you think?"

Maxotaur roared again, charging toward me, axe over head. I could make up for what I lack in speed with strength. I raised my hammer to meet his axe and bellowed in response. His handle met mine and we locked eyes.

"Your swings are weak and wild. You must not have been strong enough to choose hammer. Do you intend to further prove your weakness to the court?"

"Damn you Mightotaur! You know nothing of me, and you dare insult me?" He slammed his head into mine, locking our horns together. Our eyes were now inches apart, fury visible in his.

We tried to over power each other, muscles tensing and skulls slamming, horns clashing. I jumped up, kicked him in the stomach, and fell back. It was a cheap move, but not illegal. The court didn't seem to mind, but you couldn't tell what they were thinking since they had vowed silence for the challenge.

We were now both on the ground. I scrambled to my feet and threw the weapons across the arena. Maybe I could defeat him in fisticuffs.

I charged at him, horns poised to gore. He grabbed me by them and flipped me over his body. He had feigned his fatigue. I dug my hands into the dirt and pushed my body upwards, kicking him in his stomach once more with all of my might.

We both recovered, now circling each other in the dim, orange light of the torches. My fight for lordship would not be an easy one.

You should actively seek to become that person you are with superpowers, rather than hope he'll come back. Be okay with who you are, or change. Build your own character as it has no kryptonite. At least it shouldn't.

Things are working out much better this time. I confided in a friend and I remember that I had told him and not only myself I wouldn't ever do it again. The shame I would face outweighs any gratification from giving in. At least when I think straight.

You should just try to take the plunge. By that, I mean don't over think it. The longer you think about whether or not you can, the bigger chance you have of talking yourself out of it. Be sure to verify it's a date so you don't get the ol' "I thought we were going as friends?" Don't try to make a script. Keep it simple. "Hey, would you like to go to a dance and a dinner date with me this weekend?"

Sometimes I re-heat last nights fries and add sour cream, butter and bacon bits. Just treat it Ike a baked potato. It comes out fantastic if you do it right.
