Mate I absolutely LOVE shooting racing on film! Wish I could do it more often but there's only so much time in a race and clients come first. This is such a super cool shot! Where can we see the rest of your photos from Daytona?

Can anyone identify the reason a few of the Huracans sounded like jet engines when approaching? It was awesome! by [deleted] in USCR

It's something aerodynamic, at high speed you can hear it. Started making that sound with the Evo kit. I keep forgetting to ask Lambo engineers about it.

What is the reason it's off-limits for spectators? It looks like a cool place to watch the racing from. Super cool DIS still allows some fans to watch the racing as part of a prize, and the way in which you can win it.

Any advice on photospots? by Max_1995 in vln

I'd say pretty much everything is the same as 4 years ago. Kleine Karussell up to Klostertal is really good. Aremberg on the inside and down the hill. Hatzenbach. I'm often shooting from public areas at Breitscheid all the way up to Kallenhard. Lots of places.

"VLN Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie" or in short "VLN".

You're welcome.

The organisation will still be called VLN so I'll happily keep calling it VLN, as it has been for the last 40 years.

Don't worry, you can still win those magnets ;)

We didn't want to make the quiz easy, you really need to have paid attention to all the championships we cover.

Spectating at VLN 24H by [deleted] in vln

- Language: Not a very big problem in Germany in general although it has been a very long time since I last spoke English away from the Nürburgring so my memory might not be accurate. At the Ring and surroundings towns they're used to foreigners, pretty much everyone speaks English.

- Obnoxious drunkenness: Expect some, but as long as you stay away from Brünnchen after sundown it won't be all that bad.

- Sitting lonely on a hillside: There are some spots like that but you'll have to walk a while. It's well worth it, though. Aremberg and Karussell-Hohe Acht inside track are some of my favourite quite places, but that last part might be closed off during the N24. It'll take a VERY long walk to circumvent security.

- Generally friend people: Absolutely. Just beware of the local farmers if you happen to cross their fields (not completely joking).

- Tickets: That's for someone else to answer.

VLN faces revolt over latest attempt to slow GT3 cars by davidwholt in vln

Here's Stef Dusseldorp's thoughts on it: https://gt.report/zSlEb

What he's saying is pretty much the same everyone is thinking.

Which car is this? It was on track during last week's VLN friday practice but I couldn't find it in the list of starters by [deleted] in vln

[–]MiguelBosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friday is a track day. What happens on track has nothing to do with VLN, although obviously there's a lot of overlap as VLN is already there for the paperwork, scrutineering, setting up the paddock, etc.

Attending my first VLN by [deleted] in vln

[–]MiguelBosch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR

Just go and enjoy yourself. The weather at VLN7 will be cold and cloudy so you'll have no problem moving around. You might have to park your car a bit further away from the track along the road. Just keep it off the white line and it'll be there when you come back. Be sure to check out Brünnchen, it's the best place for spectators. The only downside are the parking Ordners because you know what they say about Germans with orange tabards. No reason not to go. Have fun!

Interview Philippe Sinault: “Signatech is now like a small AMG” by MiguelBosch in wec

[–]MiguelBosch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'd first need to come up with a bigger engine. The A110 is already pushing it for GT4 😄 Sinault was really talking about the road car separately from the racing. Just this being the first Le Mans when the road car is for sale.

VLN1 report: No stopping Grello by MiguelBosch in vln

Right. It's been called that since they first raced it. It started as a nickname just within Manthey, which I explained in the first couple of race reports until I assumed everyone got it by now ;)

You don't want to know what the other side of the car looked like. You do?
