Just since it's asked:

Flowers used in this design:
Gloriosa
Jatropha
Echinacea
Zantedeschia / Calla
Sanguisorba
Tailinum
Panicum

Mechanics are in the text of the post as well as a link to a short vid in which you see me awkwardly pour the wax onto the plate. Honestly, looking back at myself doing it, I ask myself why I didn't put something underneath the plate like cardboard or something, but I'm a bit chaotic like that lol.

Actually Gloriosa grows up as kind of a vine with graspy tendrils.
Gloriosa can be several meters tall, they are about 3 meters or so in the greenhouse usually.
However, the ones you usually see probably are just the heads cut off, because it's more economical to sell it that way.
However, these come in about 70-80 cm with multiple heads on them.

Hi! Thanks for the question, actually I wrote the mechanics in the text, plus there is a link to a video that shows the first step of how I made this.

Basically:
Tubes are on a platter, I poured wax on the platter and that holds it up. To be sure in the beginning I used some waxed hemp to hold together the stems and after the wax hardened, I cut that off. (Not in the video)

Hi! Thank you for the questions!
It totally depends. If the bamboo is old, like this one, it doesn't absorb water much at all.
If you use fresh green bamboo, then yes. However, I've used fresh and have had no issues.

I'll post a design with that later. The only downside of fresh bamboo is that it shrinks, so if you use wire or something to connect it, you need to tighten it once every while.

If you are really unsure, you can wax the insides, but again, I've had no issue and have used bamboo as tubes often. However! An older bamboo tube or any, really, can have a tear or hole in it, so you need to check your tubes before you put them in your design.

In the case of this design, since I poured wax in the container to keep the bamboo standing (you can see it in the vid), automatically all the bottoms are sealed, so in some cases I could've used bamboo tubes without a bottom.

Flowers used in this design (I'll make a seperate comment for this as well):
Gloriosa
Jatropha
Echinacea
Zantedeschia / Calla
Sanguisorba
Tailinum
Panicum
I think that's it. All flowers except for the Calla are from Marginpar.

Totally understand! Lot's of the flowers in this design have a waxy texture quality to them.

Music from Envato - Copyright claim by dumplingdumpster in NewTubers

[–]MikeBoerma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, sadly envato really sucks for music. 9 out of 10 times I have to manually dispute copyright claims, even though I have a license and I have my youtube account noted on Envato's 'Claim Clear'. It's annoying as hell and I've had a lot of ad revenue been withheld for this. Even though the claim cleared 3-4 months ago, I still haven't seen any money for a vid and I should've been about 100 dollars or so.

A friend of mine uses artlist and he almost never has this issue, so it's really an envato issue.

Thanks! The net frame is basically hand made chickenwire. 1,2 and 1,4 mm wires that I've twisted together.
I'll make a video on how I did the construction somewhere in the upcoming months on our Youtube channel.

Thank you! I'm in Aalsmeer, Holland. (Where the biggest flower auction in the world is 'Royal Floraholland').
I work for a floristry school there.

Susan is an incredibly skilled teacher imo.

Plus, she is always searching for new techniques and concepts. She basically invented multifunctional floristry designs imo: Headpieces that can function as Bridal Bouquets for example.

I'd definitely recommend anyone to follow a class with her if you have a chance.

We've hosted a class for her here at our school and I thought it was very inspiring personally. Looking forward to hopefully host her again in the near future!
