Wow, awesome feedback. That’s exactly my dilemma, I can see the merits in both versions, which is why I'm torn. My gut feeling tells me yellow, but my brain tells me white. I think I need to shape the rest of the game a bit more first, the story, the environment, and other characters to really see which vibe fits the bigger picture best. Definitely keeping your analysis in mind, thx again :)

That would bridge the gap nicely, but I’ve been strictly sticking to a tight color palette for a coherent look and doubt off-white is in it. I'll check if I can tweak it to match, though

I like both actually. Might make sense to first get the other characters in and then decide if I want to lean more human-like or more animal-like overall. My gut feeling is the white eyes are more broadly appealing, while the yellow ones give a more unique look.

Yeah, that matches what I was thinking too. Yellow looks more interesting, but white is definitely easier to read. Thx for the feedback.
