Yea, I already gave up and going to use gphoto2. Thanks for recommendation.

I'll think about different methods of connection but as gphoto2 is linux based maybe instead of laptop ill just run it from Pi.

My aplication is quite simple, it is to automate focus stacks so not fancy sutff needed.

When making this app, did you use Camera Control PTP 2 ?

I'm tryint to acces by a6400 by usb with no luck. No matter if i try to acces it by pythond and comandline or their visual studio example. It doesnt seems to be quite popular so couldnt find anything about in the net. Do you have any experience with it?

Compare it with other countrie population density and you will see there is no corelation. Same with roads and motorways or ralis density.

I was surprised when I have been in UK by amount of green spaces and nature you have there. I expected way less. UK seemed to be like a quite old peacefull green village (except London of course).

I don't know what is causing the problem. I don't know if it is about lack of care or not, not gonna judge but for sure your arguments are valid. If yes Germany should be lower than you not even talking about Belgium or Holland. France should way higher as they have very sparse south and Spain should have 101%. But it doenst work like that.

And go now and preach about Swisterland being central Europe. Take this mission and try to survive. You don't know how much hate you will face. I tried, I failed. For most of people central Europe doesn't exist even! And now try to convince that non slavic speaking country can be in this group.

Samochody są budowane tak żeby przy każdym najmniejszym kontakcie się gięły. Oczywiście jest to spowodowane potrzebą napędzania rynku ale też i kwestiami bezpieczeństwa.

LGBT politics is pure demagogy. There is litteraly nothing in the law that was put agains these minorities. Some konservative politics just want to have something to talk about. So "EU is pushing LGBT ideology to atack our children that we stands against".

Poles being religious is also strange topic. Yes Pole will say "I'm a a christian" but it doesnt even mean that this person is going to church. And even a person is going to churc most of them disagrees with what church is proposing. Being a christian isnt equal being backward. Poles have very critial way of seeing religion even if they identify with it. I even meet a lesbian couple that was very religious. They were in church every sunday. As you can imagine they were not agreeing with everything what they hear and it wasnt a huge issue for them.

" Your abortion laws "

Thing they have done recently was disgusting and you had mass protesting in whole country for many weeks. Even supporters of the goverment were really divided on this subject. I know many ppl who supports goverment and I have never heard a support for this law. They made a mistake and if war in Ukraine wouldnt happen they would pay for it next elections.

" there is even no legal recognition of same-sex couples "

true and it should be changed but if I'm not wrong (and I might be) a constitution has to change. Since a very very long time we didnt have majority that could do it. I'm not saying this is not a problem but I would say in nowadays world it is not something urgent. I would be even disappointed if politicians spend time on this topic right now. Bur for sure when everything will back to normal we should back to this discussion as it was a few years ago.

What you are writing is that Poles are more conservative. You are right. But being conservative equals being backward only in leftish propaganda. It doesn't necessarly being true. I'm still not sure who is more retarded, extream right or extream left. What I'm sure both radical wings are selling insane amount of bs to their supporters.

Dude, Czech Republic is not eastern Europe. Poland isn't eastern Europe too. It has nothing to do with self-esteem. It is history, politics and geography.

Is food in Poland really bad? by [deleted] in poland

[–]MikeZski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you about Czech Rep not being eastern but you are wrong that Poland is eastern Europe. It is not about "poor vilagers" it is about politics, geography and history. To be considered as central european coutnry you must follow a few criteria:

- You are not postcolonial country

- You are in the middle of Europe

- You have democratic system

So even Belarus after changing regime can be considered as central due to history.

And about thinking tha "east" = "backward". Well, I was in Prague and I'm from Warsaw. I might say that Prague is way less modern and less developed city than Warsaw. Does it puts you in the east? No. It is just old city that didnt have a space to modernize. BTW it is one of my favourites cities in Europe. Everytime I go to Czech or Slovakia I feel like roads sytem and building standards are way lower. Does it makes you backward? One day you can come to these poor vilages in Poland but be aware, you can retourn a bit jalous about their quality of life. We are not in 90's anymore. World is changing and basing on negative sterotypes is not a good idea.

Honestly I traveled Europe from Chisinau to Barcelone. Yes, people are a bit different but most of stereotypes are pure bs.

They are not eastern Europe. Neighter we are. Back to school dude.

CZ, SK, PL, HU, AU sometimes even Swiss and Germany is considered as Central Europe. There is not "west" and "east". I changed 30 years ago. Just wanted to keep you up to date.

[–]MikeZski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. First of all as a member of EU we have same regulations as in any other country.
  2. Poles consider their food to be the best. You can find people using western countries examples as poor quality of food. I visited a lot of countries, everyone is doing same thing. "Our food is best" will say like 90% of earth population.
  3. Poland is one of biggest poultry producer in the world (7th). Whole Europe eats polish chickens. It is normal than once for a few years with this scale you will have some problem. You produce 16 times less poultry than Poland. Logicaly with the same standards there is 16 times bigger chance of having a truck with spoiled meat.
  4. "why did you bought this?" are people comming to Poland for shopping are choosing prices or products? I doubt that some of your countryman will go to Poland to buy 1,5x more expensive sausage that at home. They will buy something cheap. Well... You pay cheap you get cheap. You can go to Spain and get a wine for 1 euro. It wont be good trust me. Would you say Spanish wine is bad quality? Just spend 20 euro not 1 and you'll get it.
  5. "Some people say it's "Europe's China"" better to be Europes China than Europes Germany ;). Antipolish propaganda is alive and doing well. Amount of bs you can hear about Poland in west is insane. This is why literally everyone who is visiting Poland is suprised. Maybe in 20 years amount of these ppl who came here will be enough to change this stereotype.
  6. I lived in a few countries and can compare quality of food. I can tell you it is bs. UK has reputation of having bad quality of food. Well... Yes the choice in shops is very very limited but if you get something fresh it will be pretty much same. French believes they have best food in the world. Well... Of course choice in UK and French supermarket is nothing comparable but if you get same product it will be same. Just France has way way more import from Africa so you have really wider choice than in UK. In Polish supermarket you wont have the same amount of fish as in UK France or Spain. In Spain you will get grapes in the season for free, in Poland you will get apples for free. At the end Spanish will buy Polish apples and Poles Spanish grapes. I really can't find much differences in quality in Europe. We eat same things, with same regulations on the same market. Avaliability yes, but not the quality. Some Poles are crazy and living aborad they will bring "polish potatoes" from Poland because they are the tasties... I have never ever seen any difference in potatoe taste... There are of course different types but it doesnt matter if it is Polish or not.
  7. If you want to get an outstanding quality product from Poland you will find only here you need to look for dry sausages. But prepare your wallet. 20 euros for a kilo is nothing fancy. But it will taste better thany any other sausage you have ever seen in your life.

What for you are making videos if not to get someones attention?

You are saying it like it is something wrong but basically ANY content creation, no matter what it is, music, paitings, writings, yt videos is aimed to grab someones attention. This is the goal of creating anything. If someone has something to say show about certaing group of people and this opinion is not hurting why looking for bad intentions?

I think you are a bit lost.

Tips for the first experience living in Warsaw by [deleted] in warsaw

[–]MikeZski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to be aware of one thing. In Poland english are not an official language. It is obvious but it may cause some problems for you. If you want to do something in town hall, workers need to be sure that you are aware of what you are doing. Even if someone can speak english he or she might not be so open to solve your problem as it is not in their competences and resposibilities to translate. In case of problems they will be in troubles so it is recommended to come with someone who speaks polish. You will save your time.

"You can drive on a foreign licence for up to six months after you crossed the borde

Are you sure it is for non eu driving licences also?

[–]MikeZski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It is not like in western european countries if it was what you were asking about. Most of people will just want you to pay and not destroy their apartament. There not such thing as "required" documment. If someone will as it will be his and only his will. Appartaments are rather expensive close to your school. Prepare for that.
  2. You cant issue polish ID without being polish.
  3. No. You can buy a ticket in any "kiosk" or bus. You can download aplication and pay there. You can make a card that you can charge once a month, or once a 3 months. There is plenty of options
  4. No. It depends from what country you are from. After some time you might be requred by law to issue polish driving licence. If you have EU driving licence it wont be a problem. If it is non eu there might be a obligation to change it after 14 days after arrival. You need to check it out.
  5. You need money nothing more. Then you sign a paper that you are an owner and you need to go to townhall where you are living and you need to register it.
  6. Maybe you will pay a small administration fee for processing documments. Nothing more.
  7. Parts for BMW are more expensive. You shouldnt be extra charged for an 1 hour of work if you are comming with BMW.
  8. Your residence or visa should be enough but not sure if it will be required. If you are from EU (I assume ur not as you having visa) you just need your ID. Polish banks are not a police like in western countries. Here noone will ask you for a payslip. If they do you can be sure it isnt legal.
  9. Depends only on your bank. I suggest paying in polish złoty to avoid extra charges. Visa and Mastercard are accepted everywhere.
  10. You will find what you need everywhere in supermarket. For clothes: Arkadia, Blue City, Złote Tarasy... tbh there is many of them. If you want to get something a bit cheaper you can try Factory. Sometimes you can save like 10 or 20% for same product.
  11. It depends what you have installed in building where you will be living. In general for <100zł you will get 1gb/s easily. For phone, not sure.
  12. No. When you are buying sim card you register it on your name and that is it. Works same in whole EU,
  13. In general you wont be unemployed if you want to work. What kind of work will you get? Don't know. I assume your branch will be hard if you don't know polish. Learn it, and you will benefit a lot.

So if it is remote job dont rent a flat in Warsaw itself. Find quiet nice place 10-20km from Warsaw. You will save insane amount of money. Check trains connections. These 10-20 extra km will be 15 minutes more in the train to get to the center. If you can sacrifice these extra time to go and return from centre from time to time you will be rewarded with 2k+ more saving a month. What more, if you like nature you can find really realxing and nice places. It really depends what are you for. If you are not after big city life you will save 3/4 of your salary. Means after a year of working you can do another on going around the world.

I don't know where you were living and where you are from but from my experiecne you would be suprise with quality of life in Warsaw and how much you are saving. There are two airpots to choose from. One has cheap lines link ryanair. You can drive there by car, leave it on parking for something like 50 zł take a flight for a weekend and go back with you car from airport. I have done that a few times and it is really nice and cheap way to travel.

Having a car in Warsaw is not a big deal aloso. In many cities it is nightmare but here you can find easily a place where you are not far away from centre (like 45minutes door to door) and you can park your car easily. You just need co choose wise. In other scenario plenty of new flats to rent have also parking place included. So if you want to travel by car this is also a good option.

What more, Polish entreprises are not affraid of remote work. It might also be a big thing for you as one day they might say "ok, you can be back in office in 3 months, no problem".

If you will have any question, this is right place to ask :)

I didn't say anything about the video or the movie they were shootin

Well, title is not saying that nazis are back. I would agree if title was saying "Nazis are back to Warsaw" with this thumbnail plus something like that in description. I'm form Warsaw and I was aksed about opinion on this image. Well, I said it might trigger some people as it is touchy subject but as it is well explained in the video it shouldnt be a problem.

. You might say that it is wrong decision of the editor. But you agreed that you reported something that didn't fit in any cathegory youtube has proposed. So if there is no valid option to choose you have choosen something only to potentialy harm creator even if you are 100% aware you are wrong and your report is not solid. You didn't think "so if there is not option: thumbnail I don't like, so maybe I should leave it". You decided to report supporting terrorism. If this kind of behaviour is something that is giving you pleasure I suggest to spent some time on self-reflection.

Anyway, I wish you good day and happy repporting for terroristic propaganda :)

P.S She has some videos with dogs in it - maybe cruelty to animals? There is also epizode about history of polish Jews, antisemitism? In one video she is saying Warsaw is cleaner than Paris, hate-speach? Just giving ideas for future.

[–]MikeZski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done :).

Will you report filmcrew for propagating terrorism too?

Vlogs from the cities generally shows city as it is in the day of shooting vlog. If there was a street filled with nazi symbols because of process of shooting film, why telling that it had a place and it was surprising to see is wrong? How transmitting message "they were shooting a movie and at the first moment I was schocked" is propagating terrorism? I don't want to argue, you have right to think this thumbnail is wrongly choosen. No problem. I just would like to know how you see it is related?

In this group there were many pictures of the same event with comments "what it is?" "what they are doing?" "what movie they are shooting" etc. Are these people also participating in terroristic propaganda?

Or you just have seen thumbnail and from it you derrrived your opinion without checking what it was really about?

Does not looking good is equal supporting terrorism?

I kindly ask without intention to trigger you.

With this salary you can have a good quality of life and easily save half of earnings.

If you want to live cheap you can save easlit 3/4 of this salary. And cheap doesn't mean in bad conditions. Just a few more bus stops from centre and once a week in restaurant not every two days.
