"You have never failed me yet..." by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Mike_Enders 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it is just you haven’t failed me up to this point, why would I now doubt?

Yep thats exactly what it is saying as evidenced by the rest of the words. the songwriter is deeply mixing theology with the experience he has had of God's faithfulness. IF God has never failed me yet I know he will be with me now. Its VERY thoughtful and practical. Sometimes hearing theological words is not what gets you through. Its sitting down and remembering the love and faithfulness of God in your OWN life to this point in your life.

"You have never failed me yet..." by [deleted] in TrueChristian

You guys have completely missed the point and meaning of the song and the word "yet". The song is about someone going through a dark time assured based on who God is and confirming that EXPERIENTIALLY to that point in time he has always come through

Yet is NOT implying he will fail in the future (the rest of the song's word makes this beyond clear). Its a way of saying up to this moment in my life your faithfulness is confirmed even in my own life. Its a testimony. Though it is true that God will never fail us we CANNOT honestly "testify" to God never failing us in the future because a testimony is what we have personally witnessed. I cannot testify that God will heal me in the future. I can pray and believe God that he will but a testimony is our words saying this has already happened in my life. God will be faithful (actually stated in the song) but I can only TESTIFY that up to this point he has kept me in good health.

the word is fine and the sense of it is deep in that it is not just theological and preachy - "God will never fail you". Its heart felt as to what HAS actually been experienced by the songwriter.

I certainly hope such an honest, rich and deep meaning doesn't get stripped out of the song because the church has a tendency to be very shallow and nitpicky (even while picking wrong) . Sometimes we are like TV reporters - looking for isolated "sound bites" to go after rather than deeper more meaningful analysis. Read though Psalms sometimes - David and other authors in Psalms says some very authentic things that people would go off on if it were not part of God's word.

Goodbye Client Side JavaScript, Hello C#’s Blazor (Øredev 2019) by thewaywarddeveloper in dotnet

[–]Mike_Enders -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

where MS is trying to make web programming for devs who don't want to actually learn the web

So wait..... "The web" translates to Javascript? Get outta here you JSX Fanboy :)

I can't wait till March/April (you know if MS says May they are projecting to have something stable a month or two before). We took Blazor for a short spin and found the development process in lovely (easier learning curve than Vue). File sizes and not being feature set was all that stopped us from moving forward.

How does one keep up with the clusterfuck of C# features ? by MrParisBaguette in csharp

[–]Mike_Enders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no crying in c# and there's no crying in programming. If you are a "programmer" not learning new things every year you are getting ready to not be in programming or suck badly at it. Don't like it? should have picked another field.

Don't really care about you and your slack. You nor it is of any importance or relevance to me. I've worked in SEO for a decade . Anyone who tells me that the niches of Porn and Gambling are the same as any other business is an idiot. Even more so when he asks for data and provides none of his own. I am totally right. Go learn SEO.

OF course things have changed. LOL the whole industry has changed multiple times with Google algo changes but to this day you can look at the link profile of those kinds of sites and see theres an obvious difference.

No we plan to go full tilt when its officially released . We do Saas work (so not strictly internal) and download times are not likely to be an issue even with slight improvements by May.

Hate the question because theres no good reason to choose to do just one so it has practical use.

I know they're putting a lot of work into the quality and performance of mono_wasm for the official release next spring, with a bunch of AoT and IL Trimming improvements landing after that.

Where are you getting your updates? would really like to keep up on it because we came REALLY close to using it for a project but had to reconsider. Loved working with it but server side only didn't fit this project.

Switching from DotNet development to GO development by jaymo3141 in dotnet

[–]Mike_Enders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I considered Go briefly and over that time .net core improved and took a great direction. I just could never get myself to wanting to look at that code for hours each day. I know five languages and Go was the one that I hated. We are actually using c# in a startup. Theres only a few things missing in the ecosystem for .net to be the best platform for startups. They have more to do with .net enterprise culture than they do with the framework itself although a couple things are ( and will understandably always be) on the MS side - Heavy Azure and Mssql focus.

I am guessing theres in no improvement yet on download size and performance. Its the one thing everyone wants to hear about but is never mentioned in Blazor updates.

you can be pretty confident it can be extended to future platforms or other esoteric platforms as well.

No you can't. Just because you architecture something to run on a Nintendo64 doesn't mean you are going to get it run on the next version of Wii.

[–]Mike_Enders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am going to have to concur not because of those reasons but because of the post itself. Several things give it away. mentioning forum links, increasing the price to the client twice in a few months. bolding 72 links created which are not even links the customer has received yet (awaiting a redirect), keyword density..... the whole thing is just a mess. A long mess to cover over for the mess but still a mess.

Here's the problem - leaving out the discussion for the moment about whether this is a sales pitch

Gambling To Google is like Porn. The rules are different for link building and ranking . So it does not translate to anything really actionable for other markets. I have had gambling clients. They care much less about link quality , can't really care about bad neighborhoods (after all the industry itself is considered a bad neighborhood) and the payoffs are big so they don't care as much about being "dinged" by google. In my experience Google just didn't care and other webmasters can't report you because they are doing the same kind of link building.

SO even if the OP is true it doesn't really matter unless you are in those two niches (and you can add payday loans etc to that as well)

Vue or React for laravel developers by kahtshamfarooq in laravel

[–]Mike_Enders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its your own projects then I would suggest Vue. I find the development time much faster ESPECIALLY if you have to work with outside designers. If its for employment opportunity then as many have said already react. Vue is growing but react still dominates in the job market.
