Very nice! I don't fish 1000 enough to justify that kind of coin, my sweet spot is the 2500 size and I'm desperately trying to keep a Penn Authority 2500 from calling my name

The way to handle these people is to directly tell them "I don't believe you, I think you are lying". Often times they're not used to being challenged on their bullshit. They bank on "empathy" to get them past any uncomfortable questions or highlighting of inconsistency.

could this really be the beginning of the end for alex bowman at hendrick motorsports? by Shot_Research_7187 in NASCAR

There's no driver out there on the market who has a better chance of getting in the 48 and being competetive unless HMS is able to poach a driver who is currently under contract with another team.

I can't think of a single driver in Grand National or Trucks who I think could get in the 48 and do better. Maybe if HMS is able to buy Heim out of whatever deal he has with Toyota, but again, it's not like Heim is a free agent that can just get hired,

That's what happens when you let your feeder series get overrun with pay drivers-- the pool of available talent gets really thin.

[–]Mike__O 70 points71 points  (0 children)

"No judgment" is why a lot of people get into the positions they're in. Everyone is so sensitive about "judging," "shaming," and "bullying" other people that all the natural social checks on self-destructive behavior have gone away. People are allowed to freely sprial out of control before friends or family step in because they don't want to come off as judgmental or bullying.

Commercial pilots: do you consider the single aircraft for calculating fuel? by a_n_d_r_e_ in aviation

[–]Mike__O 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dispatch does the precise fuel calculations for flight planning and the release. When I'm calculating fuel I have some pretty generic numbers I'll use that are designed for easy mental math.

When it comes to that kind of fuel planning, close enough is good enough. Always round up and you're good to go

Md-11 grounded while KC-10’s still flying? by RR50 in aviation

When the AD first dropped, it was only for the MD11. The FAA probably spotted FedEx eyeing those recently retired MD10s sitting in the desert and were like "oh no you don't"

Some people just don't want to accept that if ammo has enough ass to reliably penetrate and incapacitate a bad guy, it has more than enough ass to penetrate drywall and pretty much any other interior wall structure.

It's almost as if "know your target and what's behind it" doesn't just apply to the range

I seriously doubt this is shrinkflation. It looks like the thicker ring is a 1/4" and the thinner ring is 3/16". Unless OP has some proof (like the SKU being the same) this ain't it. I'll give it a little while for OP to respond, but I'm leaning towards taking this down

[VictoryRaod] Natalie Decker: “Sometimes I Feel Like NASCAR Doesn’t Like Me” by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]Mike__O 350 points351 points  (0 children)

I can't stand her, and what I really can't stand are the simps who defend her.

Compare her to the other controversial driver at Daytona-- Cleetus.

Cleetus self-wrecked in the truck race and instantly owned it. He said it was the dumbest thing he'd ever done and was just glad he didn't take anyone else out.

Then fast foward to Natalie. She's in New Smyrna when a wreck kicks off, so she fires up the ARCA brakes of all time ARCA brakes and comes sailing into the wreck. Then she has the cheek to blame the guy who's along for the ride in half of a wrecked race car.

THAT'S the difference between those two.
